Dersim is majority Alevi (and ethnically Zaza-Kurdish). Most Alevis don't hold sympathies for a Sunni Islamist party like the AKP. Additionally since 2010 the CHP chairman is Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who is (originally) an Alevi from Dersim.
