Yes, Boris Johnson would be an interesting leader; a much more perceptive and intelligent - and perhaps wise - a man than he seems Wink

Christopher Gill is another I would support. I think he's still in the Party?

That racist bastard?
He's with UKIP nowadays. There is a rumour going round that he's going to try to win his old seat (Ludlow) back.

I've never read anything racist from Christopher Gill, indeed I've read some very wise words.

Perhaps you could be more specific in your reactionary exclamations?

No, I don't remember. Is there a link to a newspaper article or something?

Conservatives today tend to be more socially conservative than Labour but politically they - despite their rhetoric - end up going in the same direction as Labour: "Left" or toward a greater socialistic, totalitarian state.

There are still groups within the Conservative Party that espouse genuine Conservatism (free-market, limited Government, family values) but they do not guide the direction of the Party anymore and perhaos have not done so since the days of Margaret Thatcher.

It is my opinion that the three major Parties are essentially different vehicles driving toward the same destination, except one prefers the more scenic and slower route to assuage the fears of the more conservative, sensible and freedom-loving portion of society.

But if one looks at the actual support and voting records one sees the true picture and all the rhetoric in the world cannot change the treasonable and deceptive and downright wrong actions of all the major parties.

The LibDems are certainly not comparable to the libertarians except perhaps on the more "libertine" matters.

UKIP is probably the nearest to the old Republican platform in terms of political and economic policies; which itself is probably nearest to the libertarian postition today.

Dubhdara (and Englishman who is certainly not "leftist" Wink  - though left and right are pretty meaningless terms anyway).
