Inspired by a similar thread in the Senate thread...

Who are people who could make a legitimate play at the Gubernatorial mansions in 2016, 2018 and maybe even 2020 (depending on who does or doesn't get re-elected?)

Cruz will NEVER run for the governorship.

He wants to be President in 2016.

yes that be wht cruz want, he defeat clinton/biden in ladnside, win vermont, mane and cali due to record of librty in anerica, white house renamed boston house, relocted to houston

Anyway, to be serious, Beau Biden is already a lock in 2016, and Gavin Newsom seems dead set on running in 2018, but if he doesn't Kamala Harris could jump in.

It took me until your third post to realize it was satire, and then I started laughing uncontrollably. Spot on, and bravo good sir.

Kamala Harris could be Hillary's AG if she wins in 2016. It looks all but guaranteed Conway is gonna to run for Governor now that Luallen is out.

So primary between and Edelen, or...?

A few of mine, in no particular order:

KY - Adam Edelen (D)
PA - Tom Wolf (D)
RI - Angel Taveras (D)
DE - Beau Biden (D) (low hanging fruit)
WA - Dow Constantine (D) (once Inslee is done)
OR - Pete DeFazio (D) (once Kitzhaber is done, dunno if there's anyone more in tune with Oregon who has any sense of what the succession plan there is)
CA - Gavin Newsom (D)
LA - David Vitter (R)
NC - Roy Cooper (D)
FL - Charlie Crist (D) and one day Adam Putnam (R)
VA - Mark Herring (D)
IL - Adam Kinzinger...? (R) (he doesn't exactly fit in with his colleagues in the House)
IN - Todd Young
GA - Jason Carter (D)
UT - Josh Romney (R)
NV - Ross Miller (D)
NM - Hector Balderas (D) (doubt Gary King tries again after the thumping he will receive this fall)
NJ - Steven Fulop (D)
CO - Morgan Carroll (D) (maybe? Depends on how Hick's second term goes, I guess. I could see John Suthers/some House member taking this. Demographics will help determine how this race evolves by 2018)
