I'M NOT DEFENDING THE LAW!  Just going to add some pertinent facts.

In 1993 a Jewish man was convicted under the same law for pretending to be a Rabbi to do dirty things with women.  cite

That's not quite the same. The guy was pretending to be her boyfriend in the first example, the later examples basically involve cases where one pretends to have a certain position so they can molest women in ways that wouldn't be legal for people who legitimately hold those positions either.
