more populist cities:

Duluth, MN
St. Cloud, MN
Sioux City, IA
St. Louis, MO
Eau Claire, WI

how about anti-populist cities/areas then? (the exact opposite of populist)

Bloomington, MN
Las Vegas, NV
Phoenix, AZ
Long Island, NY
North NJ
San Diego, CA
Manchester, NH
Bridgeport, CT

also note, conservatives in Minneapolis are VERY rare species. All rightwing protesters there come from the rural western parts and outer suburbs. Whenever I drive there, I refuse to even stop for gas until I hit Bloomington because I loathe the outer suburbs so much.

Sorry Tongue

where do you live exactly? I only go through the southwestern part (Scott county), never the northwest. Either way if I lived there I would definately move to the cities or a more liberal place like here (Mankato)

Flint is populist (very poor, very rundown, very leftwing)

Flint is very left-wing economically (and 83% for Gore in 2000), but socially moderate. Other cities like this are Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee...

Rustbelt populism

Most of the Populist cities in the Rust Belt are more economically liberal than socially conservative.

True Smiley

interestingly most of my anti-populist places are more socially liberal than economically conservative.

District 1:  Independent.  They generally go Republican, but their GOP congressman could be ousted by DFLer Tim Walz.  This convers the entire southern 5th of the state.

That's where I live. It's a rather mixed bag. Generally conservative, but there are some very liberal pockets (obviously Mankato where I live and the Austin-Albert Lea area.) And Walz is running a great campaign and I've met him, awesome guy. I really hope he pulls this off.

District 6:  Right leaning.  Mark Kennedy represents t his district.  I don't want to write about him, because it will simply make me mad

Haha, I know exactly where you're coming from. At least we can enjoy watching him lose big to Klobuchar in November.
