Lieberman pre-George W. Bush was in all fairness, not that terrible of a Senator. He was actually a pretty standard Democrat for the most part, albeit a rather nanny statist one, due to the violent video game crusade everyone remembers him for. But all that really accomplished was inspiring the rating system which was inevitable anyway, at which point he moved on. And actually, he even voted against the Communications Decency Act and the Flag Burning Amendment. Him being Al Gore's running mate was no accident. Ideologically, he was probably pretty similar to Chuck Schumer.
But Lieberman from 2001 and beyond is such a vile creature I voted Nelson.
