I wonder if BushOklahoma has seen a single movie that has ever been in my Netflix queue.

The Air I Breathe.

An awful, incoherent mess.

Vicky Christina Barcelona.  I give it an A.  I would jump on the "Woody's back" bandwagon, but I thought he was back with Matchpoint.

So I take it you didn't like Cassandra's Dream?

Munich.

Like Zodiac, this needed to be shorter. It dragged and got boring at times. At least this had some entertaining action sequences to break it up, like the raid on the PLO commanders in Beirut (and the guy introducing himself as Ehud Barak was a nice touch.) Not the best film of 2005, but certainly better than pile of garbage Crash, which is the stupidest movie I have ever seen that was not deliberately trying to be stupid (like The Love Guru, et. al)

George Washington.

Another winner by David Gordon Green, though this is the rare film where I think the budget should've been higher, the production values and acting just needed a little improvement. But it's great this guy is finally getting recognition, I just hope it eventually is for his non-Pineapple Express stuff.

Hamlet 2.

Very funny indeed, though there's not much payoff until the big finale with the play at the end.

Smart People

God, Ellen Page's character was such a bitch in that movie. What kind of a seventeen year old has a picture of Reagan on her bedroom wall yet tries to make out with her uncle? She was still really hot though and played her character well.

So she wasn't a Republican version of Juno basically?

I'm wondering where I should put that on my Netflix queue.

Sideways.

A bit overrated (maybe you have to be a wine afiacondo to REALLY love it), but I did enjoy it. Certainly great performances from Paul Giamatti and Thomas Hayden Church.

Traitor.

It was enjoyable, though there was a few glaring flaws, nowhere near as much background on Don Cheadle's character as we wanted, and that annoying fake southern accent Guy Pearce had the whole time.

Salo or the 120 Days of Sodom.

Ugh. Definitely not watching that one again....

I found the Bratz movie on YouTube last night and showed it to King. We each made it partially through, but not the whole thing. It is even more idiotic and bad than the trailer implied. If anyone wants to try, you can start here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4jL_a-KFOs

Actually that first scene alone is just worth watching for the laughably idiotic racial stereotypes, and hilariously unrealistic depiction of high school. But I don't blame you if you don't go any further.

Oh hell yes. Scene by scene summary of the Bratz movie: http://tarstarkas.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=454&Itemid=46

Yes it really is that bad.

Burn After Reading.

It was awesome. Way better than No Country For Old Men, though frankly I found that overrated. The best the Coens have done since The Big Lebowski at least.

The Shawshank Redemption.

Would've been the best movie of the year it was released if it had not been released the same year as Pulp Fiction. But talk about the happiest ending EVER.

Battle in Seattle.

Not at all historically accurate of course, but still one of the most intense movies I've seen all year.

It's opened in Minneapolis already? Does Minneapolis usually get such early releases?

The movie looks great. Can't wait to see it.

Usually. We are a big "art" city after all. We even have a large single screen theater (where I saw it) that's basically dedicated to these type of releases.

All the Real Girls.

There were some pretty powerful scenes but on a whole it was kind of boring.

Underworld.

The action sequences were cool and Kate Beckinsale was really hot, so I'd say it accomplished what it was supposed to.

Step Brothers.

It was pretty funny but fell apart near the end. You could tell there was a point when the screenwriter was like "Hmmmm, these middle aged men acting like children jokes are getting kind of tired, I should try to attempt some sort of plot now." It just didn't work.

Bobby. Again, for like the fourth or fifth time.

I have no doubt that if I were a girl I'd cry during that last 15 minutes every time.

Informative and interesting. I highly recommend it.

Monster.

Charlize Theron was ugly, and that made it tough to watch.
