Hey, I know the guy who started the debate!  And Anderson Cooper sure as hell can't pronounce "Snohomish."

That question from "Buzz" sure wasn't loaded and simplistic at all.

If I hear "straight talk" one more time I will strangle a duck.

Woah.  Twist question!

The clapping on this question reminds me of why I'm not a Republican.

Romney's answer absolutely oozed with slime.  "I didn't think it would work"?  How did he expect that it wouldn't work that it has...?

This is ridiculous.  Booing the gay general?  Lovely folks.

"This present policy is working"?

How was it expected not to work?  What indications would show that the policy isn't working?  The military would be falling apart?  Whatever.

Unrelatedly, Huckabee seems like a decent man.

Ok it's over.  Huckabee won the debate with that "Put Hillary on the first rocket to Mars" line.

I actually kind of cringed at that.  I was with him but with that it seemed that his "people" told him to make a Clinton joke and he'd been waiting.  I don't know.  The audience liked it, though.

Haha, good answer from Huckabee, but I'm not sure I needed to hear that touching bit.

This is a weird question.  And that dude is creepy.  And those aren't the Stars and Bars!

Romney's answer is already kind of sucky.

Ron Paul managed to include every supporter he has in his video.

Not only do all of Ron Paul's supporters IT workers, but apparently people can only talk about Ron Paul while near a computer.

And he's not running as an independent.  Boo.

Sometimes I wonder how smart the people on this forum are.

Everyone clearly understood at the last Democratic debate that CNN set up the questioning and the audience to make sure and paint Hillary Clinton is the best possible light, along with painting Obama, Edwards and the rest of her opponents as vicious and mean.

This debate, CNN is specifically trying to make Republicans look like nutcases (of which some of the candidates are doing a pretty job at).

P.S.  If you don't believe me, the openly gay general CNN let speak for three or four minutes is the Chairman of Hillary Clinton's Gay Steering Committee.

Expect that to get more play tomorrow than the actual debate.

They did give a hell of a lot of "we know you're not moderate, but are you crazy?" kind of questions, and gave them extra time.  But you want us to spend the entire debate bitching about that instead of taking it as a pointless YouTube debate?

Nah, this was more fun.

Edit: But they deserve to get their asses kicked over the gay general thing.  Like no one Googled him.  Please.

Well, aren't all of the candidates trying to move pretty far to the right for the primary and then move to center in the GE? I don't think the questions were that "bad" if the candidates insisted on answering "extremely".

Maybe, but it's hardly what they did with the Democrats.

William Bennett seriously thinks Romney had a "very strong night"?

CNN (Anderson Cooper, at least) is saying that they don't know about the gay general's Clinton connection.  Whooops.

One of the people in the focus group refered to "Giuliano".

Well, to its credit, CNN did choose a representative sample of the average undecided Republican voter.

Former Secretary of Education William Bennett says that Romney was strong and decisive in the debate, and performed well.

Did you...watch the debate?
