I haven't been following this closely, but do we know for sure whether these charges are for Trump or Clinton officials?

This is your brain on FOX News.

Honestly, when I hear 'Russia', I tend to tune out so I know none of the details of the investigation, but I was watching FOX the other night and they seemed to really believe that it might be Hillary?  Whatever the outcome is, I want this Russia stuff to go away- it's just the most boring scandal ever!

Haha wow. My post was a joke, but it was actually true!

Unless you're trolling, in which case well played.

Someone want to check on Hannity? He seems a little more unhinged than usual, if that's possible:

I'm not sure it is, actually. Probably just your imagination. Tongue

Where are the leftists who insisted this was fake news and just making excuses for Hillary's loss and Democrats were silly to talk about it?

We've come a long way since 2011. Herman Cain is now a voice of reason in the contemporary GOP.

Words are cheap -last I checked neither the House or Senate has moved to pass bills protecting Mueller's investigation from White House interference.

Not that I have any faith in Congress, but it's worth noting that Corker, McCain, and Flake despise Trump and have nothing to lose at this point. That makes 51.

And I hope Dems are preparing something, because it's blatantly obvious that the right wing media and many Republican politicians are already laying the groundwork for the firing of Mueller, no doubt with Trump's blessing.

Not Mueller related(yet) but Roger Stone's wikileaks contact was NYC radio host and Jill Stein supporter Randy Credico http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/29/politics/randy-credico-roger-stone-wikileaks/index.html

Hopefully Stone goes behind bars too.

He sang like a bird. Trump is going down.

I doubt it. Trump can easily just fire Mueller at any time. And even if he doesn't, there will never be 2/3 of the Senate that votes to convict, even if Dems win the House and impeach him.

Ultimately, Trump's fate will likely rest with the voters in 2020.

Don't be so sure of that; the Senate GOP could easily turn on him.

I'll believe it when I see it. All but a small handful have tied themselves to the Trump train and have become his sycophants. And it would ensure the end of their political careers, since there's no way in hell they'd win a primary anywhere after voting to convict Trump.

Also there is a legal opinion that the President can be charged, arrested and convicted.

How would that work? Couldn't he just fire Mueller and/or pardon himself?

If he were to fire Mueller, there are almost certainly some state level DAs who could prosecute under state law, where his pardoning power doesn't apply... and pardoning yourself goes so far beyond any constitutional norms that the Supreme Court would likely rule it invalid.

Ah, I forgot about the possibility of state charges. That's pretty intriguing.

Nah. I'm not even sure Susan Collins would vote to remove him. Any Republican who does vote for removal would lose their next primary in a rout. Though since that will be happening to Collins regardless, why not?

I'm pretty sure the only Republican Senator that could vote to convict Trump and still survive a primary would be Mitt Romney.

No because Trump is still in absolutely zero danger of being impeached and removed from office. He could literally be caught on tape plotting treason and Republican Senators will ignore it because the base is so rabid. But don't tell the RINOs!

You're not wrong. But the fact that Flynn is about to implicate Trump directly is probably the most consequential news about the whole Russia thing to date.

Who cares what unreconstructed Trumpists think?
25% of the country still supported Nixon at the eve of his resignation, there will always be dead-enders.

It would be a lot higher than 25% today though.

33% still constitutes a minority.

33% might be the approval rating, but don't be surprised if the actual vote percentage after rationalizations and demonization of the Democratic candidate is 40-45%.

They must still be waiting on the Breitbart approved talking points.

I read this as their admission that he's guilty of obstruction (in addition to collusion). Now they're just trying to limit the damage.

Someone remind me, please - how well did "it's not illegal if the President does it" work for Nixon?

It worked in the sense that he avoided prison. Also, Trump has the luxury of his Mr. Burns-like minions protecting him in Congress.

I hate being a cynic. I really do. But Atlas needs to not get its hopes up on Trump leaving office or a Democrat beating a pedophile in Alabama.

To be fair, at least the former has a very slim chance of happening.

It does look like the groundwork is getting laid to fire Mueller. It actually has been for a while, but recently it has been getting even more extensive.

I don’t want to get to deep into 1984 stuff... but let’s just say that I don’t think the Republicans describing what the FBI people did as “collusion” is an accident

It's obvious that the treasonous GOP knows that firing Mueller is too Ricky so instead their going to try and discredit the investigation and push multiple investigations to him up the works and muddy the waters

Oh and Rand Paul is dumber than dogshít

I'm old enough to remember in 2013 when the True Leftists here said they would support Rand Paul over Hillary because "at least he has principles", lolololol.
