I don't see an issue. The South Carolina Democratic Party is in such poor shape that they won't even be able to capitalize on the Sanford scandal. As long as folks such as James Clyburn are the face of the party, they'll never get back into power. The national Democratic Party has made some inroads among coastal South Carolinians, but I haven't seen that translate over to state-level races. Plus, I don't know of a candidate that the Democrats could field that would make a competitive race. Now, if the GOP nominates Andre Bauer, that may change, because if that's the case, I'll be voting Democrat.
