Welcome back. We have missed you, for you, like Inks, have offered Bushie an actually plan forward in live which he has ignored for the sake of OUR LORD JESUS H CHRIST in HEAVEN.

In short, Bushie moved from Utah back to Oklahoma. He did this because his daddy missed him and his mommy and daddy dislike each other and sleep in separate bedrooms. This is true. Why? I don't know.

Anyway, so the dude moves home, shacks up in their trailer, and his dad give him HIS bedroom because the poor man has no life except to serve his family like I serve a bottle of bourbon.

Bushie is convinced by his parents to do CADD, this silly tech school thing that some people do who feel lost in their lives, much like law school. Bushie has begun that. Save for a few absences with his headaches, he's doing OK, but he has this pipe dream that he's going to move to Kansas City and make $50k a year off the bat, I don't know how the midwest is, but that sounds okay.

Currently, he's dating a fine lady named Allison. She is a DIME PIECE for sure, but Bushie is being coy, talking about how he is keeping their convos secret, and they have a wedding date set despite only being on one date. I can't make this up, I only assume most in the midwest are like this because my east coast elitism really SHINES through like a beautiful full moon after some beer and bourbon.

The home is a better term.  We are not talking design, but just what we'll do once we're married such as Bedlam (OU vs. OSU) bets and such.   Pretty trivial things at this point, but still fun.

Allison sounds like quite the gambler! Are you sure you can handle it, Bushie? Especially when she gets into trouble with her gambling debts?

I understand the point Bushie is trying to make re: discussing marriage plans when you aren't engaged. When I was dating my last long term girlfriend, we had discussed our marriage, kids names, the works, and it was up to me to propose, which we had decided would be after we both finished school. Unfortunately, 3 years of long distance never happened and we broke up, which has led to my spiraling downward since, among other things.

What is odd about Bushie is they are discussing this after 2 dates. I discussed it after a year and a half when I knew everything about the girl. Bushie knows next to nothing about Allison.

I see this as merely two desperately lonely people trying to find a mate. But it is a match made in heaven in that they are both lonely, so perhaps they will make it to the actual wedding!

Bushie is just plowing on through towards the wedding. I still think Allison's gambling problems will play a bigger role in this going forward, potentially even driving them to the brink.

He certainly is. By all accounts given by Bushie, his parents marriage is in name only. There is no love in that household. They sleep in different rooms, his father is always out of the house, and they demanded he come home from Utah and live with them. It is almost indisputable that they are clinging to him to keep the home together, because life without Bushie, where they only see each other all the time, is unbearable.

This isn't uncommon, especially in religious households where divorce is frowned upon or forbidden entirely. You have two people who literally cannot stand the sight of each other staying together until they die.

I sympathize with Bushie. My mom is really overbearing too, and even when I'm not with her, she tries her best to control my life and "scare" me from growing up. Her father is the same way. He still controls her life and he's 91 and he's probably done all he can do to continue to control her once he passes away through her inheritance.

Sometimes you have to stand up to your parents though, as difficult as it may be. I'm just excited about being done with law school so I can be financially independent for the most part and not have to answer to any orders or questions anymore.

Here's a question no one has answered.... where are the previous engagement rings? Why do you need to buy a new ring when you've already been engaged multiple times and allegedly retrieved the rings when things went sour?

She is doing well and our relationship is really getting a lot stronger.  I am pleased at where things are at right now.  Our conversations reflect a lot of comfort and trust are already in place.  I did not see her this weekend, but I will see her tomorrow evening in Guthrie.
