It sounds like his first job was one like Ameriscam - a life insurance MLM company. In fact, it seems like he's worked exclusively for MLM's until he landed that job at ONG. No wonder he gravitated back towards them after left them.

The kids are an interest arc to this story. Let's revisit them, shall we?

Bushie hasn't been talking about them nearly as much as he once did, which leads me to believe something has happened with them. Remember his nonchalant reaction when the malaria outbreak hit the orphanage?

My guess is either they have been adopted by someone else, he found out they have more than 1 sponsor family and they're double dipping, or he has accepted he will never live in Kenya or be able to adopt them.

This sidetrack is pretty much a snoozer. Bushie is going to try to start selling us life insurance if we aren't careful... Wink

Changing subjects, but I should end up with about 1,550 calories today.  My dinner was one serving of chicken and rice casserole, green beans, roll, and one piece of chocolate cake for dessert.

What did you eat for lunch? Why are you eating chocolate cake when your family is diabetic? I must know!

What did you have for dinner, Bushie? Enchiladas? Tacos? A mexican burger, perhaps?

What if you find anything from Wendy's/McDonald's/Burger King disgusting? Huh

Look pal, I get some of the pretentious acts thrown around here about how gross fast food is. I get it. You don't eat fast food. Well, neither do I in most cases, I don't eat carbs hardly at all, I don't eat desert, and my diet consists of lean meats, a lot of veggies and greens, but I'm not some sour puss who never ever eats unhealthy food. On occasion, when time is short and food is spare in my house, I will go for a fast food take out, and occasionally, when I see something on TV that makes my winkle a bit turgid, I will go see whats up.

I am one of the biggest foodies on this forum. Make no mistake. I have people to back me up. With that said, I will say that the pretzel burger at Wendys is a great fast food burger. Don't be afraid to leave your shell and try it. None of us will judge you, and your stomach won't hate you too much the morning after.

This thread represents why I hate middle America. Bushie continues to harp on his short sale being better for him than bankruptcy when it simply is not true, and I know that even after a ton of bourbon.

Probably similar to being scammed into "adopting" two African children.

Well, lots of people are scammed into doing that, but how can you be scammed into taking a cruise?

I love it when we get these peaks into Bushie's past. It explains so much about his current troubles.

What's worse is I never even went on the cruise, just paid for it.  I never had time.  I had 18 months to take it from November 2009 to May 2011, but never found the time.  So, that $800 was a pure waste of money.  It wasn't exactly a bright moment in my financial past.

So it was just an open invitation to take a cruise anywhere and everywhere between a certain period of time? Or was it not a cruise at all and just a scam?

I thought he was going to go to Disney world anyway? Come to think of it, he never went. More wasted money.

I liked reading it, especially where he made the absolute statement that life began at conception, completely ignoring the lack of scientific evidence supporting his claim.

How is Allison? Did you talk to her yesterday? Have you asked her out yet on a date?

I talked to her for about 30 minutes yesterday.  She is well.  Yesterday was like the second time we've talked, so no date yet.

30 minutes! That's terribly long! She must have had a great day. Are you planning your first date? What kind of night are you thinking?

Who cares about the cruise scam.. it sounds like he was offered some open buffet cruise where they could go anytime and anywhere for $800 and took it, and it ended up not being a real thing.

Let's hear more and encourage him to go after Allison. It will give him something to do!

He'll be in even more debt.  I may be critical of him, but at least I offer rational advice.  Pursuing a girlfriend (or anything that will increase his spending) is not what he should be doing right now.

Better he spend it on her than on other frivolous things. His parents give him money. He may as well use it to potentially make himself happier and build a life of his own.

This is ridiculous. Bushie FINALLY starts talking to another girl after literally a lifetime of being alone and you all are telling him to stop it? Please, this is the best thing for him right now. Having a girlfriend will give him an outlet and something to work hard for.

Whenever I'm dating someone, my grades are immensely better because the girl typically pushes me to do well and if I don't, she nags me to death, and the thought of going through that is enough to push me to work.

Does he really need to support her though? She's a girlfriend, not a wife or anything. Sure, he can pay for a date here and there, but I never paid for EVERYTHING with any girl I have ever dated. She's not my wife. I have no obligation to buy everything for her.

The Update's new readers are ruining this show's rebound story arc. Here we have a potential lady for Bushie, and all we care about is debating mass transit in Oklahoma?

Let me make this easy for all of you: there is no mass transit in Oklahoma. Everyone has a car and everyone drives. They have mass transit in the city, sure, but you likely don't want to take it if you have any means at all. That's just the way it is. Who cares? He has a car. He drives. He's like most Americans who don't live in the northeast corridor.

Now, let's get back to discussing Bushie's potential new fianceegirlfriend.
