*If* the Dems win both the Senate and gubernatorial races in Ohio next year, then I think Sherrod Brown is the frontrunner to be the VP pick for any plausible female Democratic presidential nominee in 2020.  He probably would have been picked last year if a Democrat had been governor of Ohio, thus insuring that his Senate seat would remain in Democratic hands.

I wonder if Sherrod will remain a possible VP candidate if he loses his Senate race as might be expected.

Of course he wouldn't still be in the running for VP if he loses reelection.  That's why I said *if* the Dems win both Senate and Gov. races in Ohio next year, then Brown is the favorite for VP.

And what if he wins his senatorial race while Mary Taylor wins the gubernatorial race?

Then he's in the same position as he was in 2016: Will probably get on the VP short list, but not that likely to be picked.
