We certainly have had quite a large serving of FL polls lately. Anyway, here's something interesting:
Of the last 9 GOP state polls added to the Atlas (those dated June 4 or later), there are 5 polls in which Thompson has been either leading (in the NC and SC polls) or second to either Giuliani or Romney (in IA and 2 of the 3 FL polls). Only in NH and PA do the recent polls have Thompson in 4th.
Not a lot to go on yet, but it seems like the South had always been Giuliani's weakest region, and McCain had been the biggest beneficiary of that there. Is Thompson now replacing McCain as the alternative to Giuliani in the South?
