Also, this would make the selection of Lieberman rather awkward:

Maybe Pawlenty's schedule *hasn't* been cleared:

This thread seems to suggest 1)  McCain has made up his mind, and 2) it is Pawlenty.

Well, they are simply quoting exactly the same posts from Ambinder that I quoted here:

OK, it looks like Pawlenty did cancel numerous appearances, but still says that he's "scheduled to appear" at the state fair tomorrow (though maybe that was before he started cancelling things?):

FWIW, the Secret Service just did a security sweep of Romney's sister's home. Might not mean anything, especially since it's running counter to the prevailing rumor winds.

Yeah, that was mentioned here:

Also, did I somehow miss this from Ambinder's "Live from Invesco Field" post?:

"Fox's Cameron reportedly has VP pick"

Does anybody have a TV with Fox News Channel on it where they're at?  Are they talking about this?

Well the earlier buzz was that Romney and Ridge were to both be at the Dayton event, although that did not mean necessarily that one of them had been, or would be, picked.

No, not at Dayton.  They're scheduled to appear with McCain on Saturday in PA.

Lol, is this turning into a game show?:

http://www.drudgereport.com/

"TOP CONTENDERS TO GATHER IN DAYTON, NOON FRIDAY... WILL SHARE SAME STAGE..."

If that's actually true, then the name might *not* leak tonight.  Though we could find out who qualifies as a "top contender" tonight.

Seriously...anything new or fresh on Ridge?

Just that he lies about not having travel plans.  Wink

OMG!  Ridge says he has no travel plans and then leaves in his car!  He's either a liar, or he's driving his car without any plans!

I'm almost tired of reading this stuff now. We have Palin, Romney, and Ridge in Ohio but Pawlenty will be at a state fair in Minnesota?

I don't think it's a given that Pawlenty will actually appear at the state fair.  He cancelled everything in his schedule.  It's possible that he just hasn't gotten to cancelling the state fair appearance.

(Huckabee appearing in Dayton would contradict other sources, including Huckabee himself.)

^^^ There's where I got the big rally idea from.

Please explain what you mean.  A couple of sources are saying that multiple shortlisters would appear in Dayton, but who is saying that Ridge will be one of them?

I don't know if Ridge will be in Ohio. I just assume he'll be one of them there. He might not be, but I thought he was on the short list.

There were rumors that he was on the short list, but we really have no hard evidence of that.
