I don't concur either. Ciattarelli could win.

Ciattarelli is leading right now in Middlesex, an white ethnic stronghold.

Guadango is leading now in her home bases of Monmouth and Ocean.

The Asian vote has significant power here in Middlesex.

True, I live in the county. It's a diverse, beautiful county.

Philip D. Murphy wins the 2017 New Jersey Democratic gubernatorial nomination over John Wisniewski and Jim Johnson. Murphy will face either Ciattarelli or Guadagno in November.

Indeed. I'm from Somerset but I go to Middlesex a lot for shopping and other reasons, so...hi neighbor?

Hello neighbor!

Ciattarelli and Wisniewski can run for Senate or their respective House seats in 2018.

Wisniewski would give Menendez a run in a 2018 Senate primary.

Next week in Virginia should be more interesting.

True. I still see Northam winning, but we'll see.

It's surprising that Ciattarelli is doing well in the tony counties of Union and Morris. Christie's last minute endorsement of Guadagno probably did not work for her.

Interestingly enough, between Murphy and Guadagno I am leaning towards Guadagno.

Why?

Lesniak can run for Congress next year against Leonard Lance in NJ-7.

Jim Johnson can run for Congress next year against Rodney Frelinghuysen in NJ-11, or Senate against Menendez in 2018.

Last night's primaries evince the need for run-offs in all elections.
Unfortunately, New Jersey elections don't have runoff elections. New Jersey politics and Illinois is too boss-controlled.

I'm kind of surprised how forceful she is, but at the same time beating up on Christie is really the only way she'll have a chance.

It she had a morsel of courage she would resign from his administration now. Acting like she's independent will seem fake to many voters, but it's better than being tied to Christie for the rest of the campaign

If Guadagno resigned from his administration, it would hurt the NJGOP's enthusiasm in November. Christie still has some loyalists in NJ, but I wonder who they are other than Jon Bramnick and Kevin O'Toole. What a state I live in.

This article detailing the sheer f**ckery of Christie's beach visit today is a perfect encapsulation of how he both has no ethical fortitude and really doesn't give a crap anymore.

https://thinkprogress.org/amp/p/2c4d47384129

I want to have the election and get Christie out of office like right now. Well, actually in two days, because then I'll be 18 and I can vote in it.

Voter registration forms are available. Lt. Gov. Guadagno is also the current NJ Secretary of State.

Guadagno is probably finished anyways. With the RNC and the RGA not helping her, and the NJGOP potentially not helping either, this could be a blowout.

http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2017/07/without_christies_top_fundraiser_guadagno_looks_to.html

Voter turnout may be very low in November, if it is Advantage Murphy, but Guadagno will continue to talk about property taxes.

Phil Murphy could win Morris County, the first Democratic gubernatorial nominee to win red Morris in a long time.

Maybe Guadagno could run for House against Frank Pallone in NJ-6 (my congressional district) next year in 2018 or run for Senate in 2018 or 2020.

Or, her political career could be potentially over.

Jack Ciattarelli would probably have not gotten money from Trump and the RNC either. Ciattarelli wanted Trump to step aside in October 2016 after his sex comments towards women.

Interesting. Do you have an idea on how folks in Morris feel about this race?

I know a couple of people from Morris, it's a wealthy, Wall Street trader suburban bedroom community place, and it's also Christie's home. Murphy could win the county if Guadagno gets low and unenthusiastic turnout from the GOP. I don't think Trump supporters would vote for her.

I know quite a  few lot of trump supporters in Jersey. They are either voting third party or not voting.  They can't stand Guadagno.  Guadagno is a weak candidate IMO

The NJGOP should have ran Ciattarelli or Hirsh Singh, then. Ha!

Man, she's permanently tied to Christie. Her career is over. We're watching her march to the Elysian Fields.

I actually kind of feel bad for her. Granted, this born out of ignorance of her political history, but I don't think any politician should deserve to have their career substantially hurt or possibly even ruined just because they served alongside such a hated politician. I'd rather she have a shot to succeed or strike out on her own.

Then again, never say never. There is no guarantee Christie's stench sticks to her. If she is savvy enough, she can find a way back, if that is what she wants.

Guadagno can run for NJ-06 against Pallone in the future.

With former Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver as Phil Murphy's lieutenant governor running mate, she could help him with minority voters.

Some of the minority voters stayed home in Newark, Orange, Camden, Elizabeth, Perth Amboy, etc.

Murphy will definitely win the hispanic vote IMO

Murphy may win the Hispanic vote in the 60%-80% of the percentage.

Kim Guadagno's running mate is likely to be a Hispanic man, either Woodcliff Lake, N.J. mayor Carlos Rendo, a Marco Rubio loyalist from his 2016 campaign.

http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2017/07/guadagno_picks_her_running_mate_a_bergen_county_ma.html#incart_most-readpolitics

http://www.politico.com/states/new-jersey/story/2017/07/25/source-guadagno-to-pick-rendo-as-running-mate-113592

Murphy and Guadagno are not choosing bland white males like state Senator Paul Sarlo or state Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli.

Meanwhile...former Rudy Giuliani loyalist and former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik attacked Oliver as anti-police.

https://www.insidernj.com/keriks-take-oliver/

If Kerik didn't have felon ties, he could have ran for a Senate seat in NJ. He lives in New Jersey.

It's official:

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno picks Woodcliff Lake, N.J. mayor Carlos Rendo as her lieutenant governor running mate. He is a Latino, a Cuban-American.

http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2017/07/guadagno_picks_states_only_gop_latino_mayor_as_run.html#incart_river_index

He is Marco Rubio's friend and N.J. fundraiser during his 2016 Rubio presidential campaign.

Guadagno blasts Murphy over his $1.3 billion tax plan

http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2017/08/guadagno_blasts_murphy_over_his_13_billion_tax_pla.html#incart_river_index

Lt. Gov. Guadagno, State Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean Jr., and Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick railed against Democrat Phil Murphy's tax increase proposals.

Murphy will be soon Gov. Phil Murphy, so expect tax increases.

However, he says that he will tax the wealthiest New Jerseyans.
