New York really wants to cement its rep as America's new "most corrupt" state, doesn't it?

As Rachel Maddow said a few years on a special she did on NY Politics: "Republican, Democrat...it doesn't matter! Corruption is a bipartisan affair in New York!"

I still think New Jersey is more corrupt.

Both NJ and NY is corrupt. Mangano is finished.

It will be interesting to see if this has any impact on the State Senate.  There are a couple seats thought to be in play and Michael Venditto (John's son) is a State Senator as well.

If that's the case, could that hurt the younger Venditto's political future. I see Venditto as a future Senator/Governor. Young, fresh, moderate Republican.

John Venditto may have cost his son his Senate seat. Democrat John Brooks beat his opponent, Michael Venditto, the son of John. The Nassau County GOP needs to have some shaking up.

Might be too early for this, but with Mangano likely gone soon, a Tom Suozzi comeback, maybe?

Suozzi is a congressman now. He may be there in Congress for a long time, unless the Nassau/Queens GOP find a good challenger in 2018 or 2020.

Mangano unlikely to be renominated for post according to Newsday. Cant post link since I'm new here.

Former NY-3 GOP congressional candidate and former State Senator Jack Martins may run for Nassau County Executive in 2017. The Nassau GOP is somewhat corrupt, however.

I see the Nassau Democratic Party doing well this November. The Nassau GOP needs to have a shakeup. However, if GOPer Jack Martins runs for the nod, he will beat Curran.

Well, Nassau Republican party has always been in a league of its own. One would have thought that the Suozzi interlude would have taught them humility, though.

Perhaps Cuomo will appoint Suozzi to Mangano's vacancy.

Mangano would have been the strongest candidate for NY Governor in 2018 had this not come about.  The Nassau County GOP is, perhaps, the last old-time "bossed" political organization.

Suozzi would be good as a congressman. Nassau County voters may oust him like they did in 2009. I rate the Nassau County Executive race as Lean D/Tossup.

Ed Mangano and his wife, Linda, and Oyster Bay supervisor John Venditto, the father of former state Senator Michael Venditto will have a trial soon. Good. Get these corrupt officials out of there.

Maybe the New York Islanders can try to build a new stadium in Long Island again.

That'd be good.

Kaminsky is the future of New York Democratic politics. He's a good lawyer, he could be president one day.

Nassau County Republicans are the last of the "boss" run organizations in America.

I grew up on Long Island during the heyday of Joe Margiotta.

Philadelphia Democrats as well--Congressman Bob Brady.
