Polk and Jackson both served as legislatures in Tennessee though.

Grant was elected from Illinois, not Ohio.

Oh, all I had was that he lived his young life in Ohio and served for most of the rest.

Atlas maps on this site have him from New Jersey.  It's true that he was born and raised in Virginia, but he served as governer of New Jersey before he ran for president.
