Meh, Salazar wasn't really a good incumbent and the GOP in Colorado is in shambles.  Like, one of the top candidates against Ritter is Tom Tancredo.

Maybe Musgrave will give it a shot. Smiley

She can probably pretend like she's still a congresswoman during the debate and on signs.

Salazar really wants to be Governor. This is another good resume booster, and Ritter has to stand down in 2014.

Wouldn't being more recently elected state-wide be the best resume booster and run for it like Hutchison is doing in Texas (but not primarying the current guy)?

I don't know, I still think it's very likely Dem...

The Colorado Democratic Party is possibly one of the strongest organizations in the country right now, although it may have just peaked 2006-2008.  It's truly the envy of the rest of the country that's not Rhode Island or Vermont.

Sort of like the Florida GOP around 2000.  Colorado is now a model for other Democratic state parties to follow.

I mean, Bill Owens could make it competitive, but why wouldn't he have ran for the open seat in 2008 when his name was even better known and it seemed like Hillary would win the Dem. nomination?

I have great faith in the Club for Growth to hold us this seat.

Actually a valid point. Tancredo was thinking about challenging Ritter, maybe he'll challenge the open Senate seat and guarantee Democrats the seat instead?

Virginia's Democratic growth is more due to demographic changes than becoming a monster of dominance.  Webb just squeaked by and you've been electing Democrats statewide plenty.  I don't know if the state party successfully rebranded itself or not.
