Sad day in that it reflects the changed (or changing) political landscape in this country.

Hmmph.

Hmmph.

It is kind of sad to see all the moderates leave the party.....

out of interest, does this party switch affect your vote?

I don't know.  I know Phil hates when I say this, but I'm voting for Arlen regardless of what party he was running as, as for the idea I'd want to switch...well I can't tell...

I'll give Phil this: I'm not sure if the Republican party left Arlen...it probably did, that's probably still not really Arlen's motivation for leaving, aside from 200,000 or so people like me who left the primary electorate.

I'm just going to have to re-evaulate if myself and the party have left each other.

Shrug.

But I'm glad we'll still have Arlen.  PA needs seniority.

I will say that the most amusing thing for me was that about four months ago I received a mass mail type letter from Specter asking me to re-register as a Republican saying he needed my vote in the primary.

1) I have never been anything other than a registered Republican and
2) It was my parents who switched to vote for Obama.

Just amusing to look back on it.
