Why

bcuz weather and region, and culture.

although it is the hometown of Ramona Quimby so maybe it's not all bad.

I live here and its pretty great: People are super nice, the weather is not all that bad(It doenst snow much here or get super hot like the South and doesnt rain as much as people think) , is relatively inexpensive ,  has many natural attractions close by(the beach and the mountains are an hour away, the Gorge is half an hour away, and has many great hiking sports, and was recently ranked the best food city in America(https://www.oregonlive.com/dining/2015/12/portland_named_no_1_food_city.html_ )

While I may be biased due to personal reasons , I like the city for many other reasons too and if you look at my number two choice you will see that it is another North Western City
