There's no way a populist anti war candidate wins in 2004 , just no way. Also if you think Trump is tough and dirty , Karl Rove would destroy him and without social media there is absolutely no way Trump could survive the onslaught the Bush team would throw at him.

The only network Trump would get favorable coverage from would be MSNBC and they were nowhere near as big as Fox is now and werent even as big as they later would become later. There literally would be nothing Trump could do to counter the attacks he would get from Team Bush and all the criticism from Fox and CNN because he wouldn't have twitter to resort to.
