I hope this is what happens

David Dimbleby: As Big Ben strikes 10 we can give you the results of our exit poll . There it is 10 o clock and we say Boris Johnson will remain prime minister and a landslide is likely

Currently has it at

CON     338
LAB      224
LDEM     20
SNP       42
PC           4

CON seat share seems to be dropping since polls opened

How did it look like in 2017

So did the coal mining areas go tory too, I know two years ago I was mocked over this but lets see if those areas fell with the rest of the "red wall"

If the actual counts bear this out, it does indeed look as though British voting patterns are moving closer towards those of the US & Canada - a stronger urban/rural divide, with wealthy urban & suburban areas going left while blue-collar areas go right.

Certainly Sedgefield & Bolsover voting Tory while Kensington & London go Labour more closely resembles American (post-1990s) & Canadian (post-1950s) results than British ones of the last hundred years.

It seems like Canada is more regional still than anything else, with Conservatives dominating out West but Libs dominating in Ontario and the Atlantic while Quebec being more like Scotland.

Yep. After the fourth Tory victory in a row in 1992 came 1997.

Difference was the 1992 election was after 13 years in power and 1997 was after 18 years

Imagine being a 60 year old British guy from the northeast who has voted Labour his entire life, hates Thatcher with a passion, but looks at Boris and goes “hey I know he went to the most elite school in the country and was born into wealth but he wears his hair in a weird style so yeah I think he’s one of us”

Well Labour has never nominated someone as horrible as Corbyn before
