While the entire world seems to be moving to the left on the same-sex 'marriage' issue, Ireland is significantly more conservative on abortion and there's likely more bible believers there than there are here now. 

Ireland hasn't shied away from its Catholic history. They're not openly hostile to people of faith like our country has become.

Of course, being a "person of faith" has a more reasonable, real world definition in Ireland than in your mind.
