Turn One: Summer 2016
March 1, 2016 – October 31, 2016

Speaker (Hon. Geoff Regan): Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! This house will now come to order.

A Note from the GM
Turn: This turn will last for one hundred sixty-eight (168) hours, ending on the afternoon of March 22 (Thursday).

Legislation: Summer Turns are reserved for non-budgetary legislation. All parties may introduce legislation for this turn; the governing party may offer as many as three bills, while each opposition party is limited to one. Players have until March 18 (Sunday) to submit proposals in the House of Commons, after which will follow a period of debate.

Conservative leadership election: Conservatives have until turn's end to file to run for the leadership of the Conservative Party. Your character does not have to be a Member of Parliament to run for the leadership, though you will be expected to run for a seat if you win. Depending on whether we have one or multiple candidates, we will then proceed to a brief campaign/coronation in Turn Two.

Appointments: Trudeau may appoint members of the cabinet during this turn, as he so chooses.

(OOC commentary goes in the rules thread, but since we're here. . .)

Yes, sadly; in our timeline, O'Leary represented York-Centre in the last parliament and lost his seat to the Liberals in the 2016 election. You're free to rejoin as a different character or run as O'Leary for the Conservative leadership (if you won, you would then need to choose a different riding).
