Week one is live...congratulations to all who picked Oregon State.

Sorry for getting the Ohio State/Indiana game's date wrong. That game is tonight.

Also, the BYU/LSU game has been moved from Houston to New Orleans due to the flooding from Hurricane Harvey.

Colorado St. won that game

Christ, the states of Texas and Florida are not looking good for football this year!

I was flipping back and forth between that A&M-UCLA game at the VT one, but I had a weird feeling that A&M wasn't completely safe the second that UCLA started coming back (even when it was 44-17 or 44-24).

No way is Georgia beating Alabama in the SEC Championship game.

Yeah, Kentucky will beat Alabama.

No, Mississippi State will beat Vanderbilt.

Honestly, unless Alabama loses to Auburn they're going to win the SEC West...and I find it hard to believe they lose the SEC title game against Georgia/Florida/Kentucky.

I'm picking Alabama over Vandy in the SEC Championship Game right now, but (apart from poor Mizzou), the East is wide open.

I think it's virtually certain that, if Alabama and Georgia play at 12-0, both teams are in regardless of the result of the SEC Championship Game (maybe unless one team gets blown out).  I could even see the loser only dropping to #3.

#11 TCU at Texas Tech
#17 Mississippi State at Arkansas
Texas A&M at Ole Miss
Arizona at Oregon
Missouri at Vanderbilt

lol.

Yeah, those picks are absurd.

LOL, the only way I can possibly make up ground at this point is by picking some upsets that no one else picks, so ... why the  not??

If you think Pick Em suicide is the way to go........have at it, Tom.  Tongue

Those picks aren't THAT bad though? Texas Tech has played well enough that an upset at home, especially with TCU not really focused after the massive game last week, isn't unthinkable. Neither is Vandy beating Mizzou at home; Mizzou at times this season has looked like the worst team in FBS and Vandy always has a stout defense. And Oregon-Zona? Vegas has that as a pick'em right now; nothing at all crazy about picking Oregon at home. Arkansas over MSU and Ole Miss over A&M (Just saw that Ole Miss is apparently favored?HuhHuh What???) are kinda nuts.

You would be forgiven for thinking that because it is true almost all of the time.  But, this year, Vandy's strength is its offense, as its defense has regressed massively.  In its six conference games, Vandy has given up 59, 38, 45, 57, 34, and 44.  But, its offense isn't nearly as bad as it has been, having scored at least 20 points in every conference game other than Alabama and Georgia.

Cotton: TCU vs Penn State

I know this means Georgia and Alabama have the potential of playing each other in the final, but they didn't play in the regular season, and I imagine the committee would be much more interested in preserving the option of a Clemson/Alabama match rubber match for all the marbles.

I'm not sure if a conference can have three teams represented in the playoffs/New Year's six bowls. If they can't that could be a problem for Alabama/Auburn/Ohio State/Wisconsin/Penn State.

There's nothing stopping 3 teams from one conference from being in the NY6.
