Democratic candidate who would hand Trump the election?

Nobody that could win the Democratic nomination would automatically hand the election to Trump. Maybe Keith Ellison, but he won't run and even if he did he wouldn't come close to winning the election. Even Cuomo would win more than 27% of non college grad whites because Trump probably pissed some of them off. And someone like Cuomo would probably do even better than Hillary with college grad whites. Even if that's not enough, you always have the demographics that favour Democrats. Only Ellison or some Starbucks/Hollywood billionaire that turns out to be a tax evader could hand the election to Trump.

Anyway, I don't think running a hard-left candidate is the only thing Dems can do to win the WWC back. First of all 61% of the WWC already voted for Romney so there isn't a huge amount of non college grad whites to be won. Most of them aren't even that poor. And I think substance, prioritizing their issues (which isn't necessarily seizing the means of production lol) and generally not being condescending to them is very important. Moderate Joe Biden would do much better with the WWC than someone who runs on a Bernie platform but treats them as if they're rednecks who don't know what's best for them.

Trump has a good chance if he stops doing stupid things by the way. But he isn't going to stop doing stupid things.
