Most followers of this board will be aware of the events that have led the current conservative party to be discredited in the eyes of the electorate, so i will not overlabour that point

I suspect it'll be the electorate that takes care of the over-Labouring.

First poll for London mayor since Feb:

This will be the first London mayoral election held via First Past the Post.

Why though?  It seems like such a huge step backward to go to FPTP.

Because the Tories think it will benefit them.

I didn't realize until now that the change was made by Westminster, instead of the London Assembly. Roll Eyes

If we take the vote shares from the Blackpool South by-election and project them onto the share of seats won at the upcoming general election:

Labour: 376
Conservative: 111
Reform: 108
Lib Dem: 13
Green: 13
OMRLP: 4

It would appear that SNP, Plaid, all the NI parties, and the Speaker are all projected to lose their seats.  However, this is math and you cannot argue with it.

Who is the 'People's Independent Party’ who just won control in Castle Point?

And how much should we be reading into Reform winning only 2 councillors across the entire country?
