Not changing the map for this one poll, as it changes little. I anticipate other polls, though, this week.

Tennessee -- Gravis

Trump approval 54- 41

Do you remember when Tennessee was the most progressive state in the South? That's over even if you no longer consider Virginia 'Southern'.

http://orlando-politics.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Tennessee-August-12-2018-v2.pdf

When??

Virginia actually used to be a lot worse.

Torie should just straight out kick him out. We've seen this tired act one too many times now.

It's clutter. I work too hard to have time to wade through his nonsense.

Put him (and the other one) on Ignore.  I did a long time ago and it really helps.

I did that, but everyone still replies to his ridiculousness.

Trump's approval has been surprisingly strong in Florida (relative to his national numbers) from a number of pollsters.  Anyone have a theory as to why this is so?

Maybe it's because it's more suburban and thus more of a natural right-wing constituency. The poorer, more rural states where the GOP has gained in the past few years aren't really natural for the Republican Right.

The economy would have to sink for something like that, and I'd rather not have that happen.

The economy is horrible right now.

Why do you say this?

When was the last time you saw a "Help Wanted" sign or met anyone who made more than $1,200/month? Around here, it's been a long time.

I think the Senate numbers in Missouri and Montana are switched around in that post.

Then again, both are from CBS a/k/a the Sexual Harassment Network, so they probably overstate support for the Party of Sexual Harassment.

First '35' for Presidential approval that I have seen for registered or likely voters.

He's gonna be down in the 20s when its all over.

I remember posting on Facebook around this time 8 years ago, and have seen it in "On this day", that I felt Obama would probably lose reelection in 2012. It wasn't until the campaign got really underway in spring 2012 and I saw how much Obama still controlled the conversation and how feckless the Republican campaigners were that I started to get hope again. And of course every Democrat had a heart attack after that one debate where Obama looked like a zombie and Romney caught up with him in the polls.

Ah yes, the "Big Bird debate", where Mitt just wanted to talk about his favorite show 'Sesame Street' the whole time.

How is so Perdue so popular? He openly hates the United States of America, so how is this possible?

Another log lands on the fire, so I don't know why 538.com has been stable the last few days.

I think the SOTU speech bounce could be significant given the soft support potential Trump has. Every time he goes a few weeks without doing anything immensely stupid (at least to the public knowledge) his numbers tend to improve.

The speech was such a twisted mess that it won' t help him.

How do you figure that Kentucky is a state with no middle class, where people are either rich or poor?

Everyone I know is either rich or poor.

How does that square with KY’s reasonable household income adjusted by cost of living, fairly high health insurance coverage rate, and high homeownership rate.  How are you defining poor?

Northern Kentucky has a very high cost of living compared to the rest of the state.
