Well, there were some other moderation changes, but Dave hasn't made them yet, so no announcement.

The situation was that muon2 asked me if I wanted to be a 3rd Modadmin (because Nym has disappeared even if he may login from time to time - it's been like this for a while now actually), and I said sure and so he sent some requests to Dave like a week ago. However when Dave installed my addon, I asked him to temporarily elevate me to Modadmin (before muon2's request) because I needed to test new features only Modadmins can use, and I didn't want to bug Dave/muon to spend an hour or two testing the features down to the last detail.

Dave presumably hasn't seen muon's email though, so nothing is official.

So out of curiosity, is the idea that you'd share in the banning decisions with Muon, or would you stick to something like the role that I had back in the day, where I used my modadmin powers to keep the spammer / sock attacks at bay, but left banning decisions to Nym?

I thought I might ban Nym/muon2 and all Moderators who challenge my oppressive rule while also installing puppet Moderators (that Dave approves of) to carry out my orders.

No but really, I hadn't thought about it. I've been using up a lot of my forum time trying to iron out bugs / making adjustments to my project. I guess dealing with socks/spammers, and dealing with other temporary decisions. So long as muon2 is actually here to deal with stuff, we have a system we can follow. It wouldn't be right to have muon2 doing one thing and me another, because then ban decisions would begin to resemble judge-shopping Tongue

One thing I do intend to be active on is making sure Reaganfan and Greedo-like users don't park their butts in town hall/debate/"breaking news"/election night threads and begin turning it into a steaming pile of dung with the only content being people arguing with them. I won't have a problem with issuing 24 hour mod reviews if they can't respect other user's wishes to have a thread that they can actually enjoy.

Jimmie why do you keep asking in public? Don't you remember when I said if you keep doing that, it would be frowned upon heavily? Dave has basically said he'd like to avoid users who seem to want to be a moderator badly.

Do you have the full ability to perma-ban posters?

Technically yes
