Northam apperently has had a scandal break with black face, WaPo

If he wants to have Democrats controlling the General Assembly in time for the 2020 redistricting cycle, I echo others here in their desire for him to step down.  He did some good with regard to expanding Medicaid, but this scandal has ensured he won't be as effective going forward.

The silver lining here is that we get six-year Governor Fairfax. Would he have been eligible to run again if this had happened in December of last year?

Wouldn't that be seven years?  There are still three years left in Governor Northam's current term, counting this year as Year One when Northam resigns tomorrow as expected.
