I feel that what the spanish left needs is the IU going back and focusing on their economic platform, in a similar way to the Worker's Party of Belgium.

That’s basically what Yolanda Díaz is doing.

PNV will win most votes it looks like, but a possible 'wrong winner' election due to the malapportionment of seats between provinces.

Now looking like Sanchez might not resign after all, maybe he has also realised how this gives every impression of being a nakedly politically motivated stunt from some distinctly shady people?

Sánchez has announced that he will indeed continue as Presidente del Gobierno.

But Cs is a party that calls itself "liberal" and has nothing to lose but its dignity. Either "liberal" means adherence to the values of liberal democracy (a somewhat "classical" definition), or it means freedom to do whatever you please as long as you can pay (the definition of Ayuso and Milei). You choose

Liberalism in the Spanish tradition is really little more than anti-clericalism.
