I absolutely hate the idea of Patriot day.

I normally wouldn't be against the addition of a holiday, but as has been mentioned, Patriot Day is too soon after Labor Day.  So, if we added Patriot Day, we should remove Labor Day.

I want to add a write-in holiday - Good Friday, as a religious holiday.  Easter is already on a Sunday so that's a defacto holiday already, but we used to get Good Friday and Easter Monday off school when I was in the 1st-3rd grades, I believe.  We should go back to that.

No, I hate the idea of it as a holiday because I don't want a tragic day celebrated by a bunch of advertising bull$hit and barbecues.

That makes sense.

The NFL is a Sunday sport, with only an occasional Saturday.

Christmas Eve is already basically a holiday.  A lot of companies, as morgieb eluded to, are already closed both the 24th and 25th.
