Whoever wins in 2008, will they be well-enough politically to be re-elected in 2012, or will we be electing the 45th President to start in 2013?

I'm thinking the only one who can be re-elected is Hillary Clinton, and thats even a stretch, because the next president will have to clean up the big mess that Bush will leave behind.

The only person you could say with anything close to certainty would not be re-elected in John McCain, and that's because he wouldn't stand again. No 76 year old could win a general election.

Reagan was 75 and he was re-elected in a landslide. If McCain leads a good term and is healthy enough I don't think he'll have a problem getting re-elected because of his age.

I thought I heard somewhere that he said he would only serve one term.  Does anyone else remember hearing that, or am I hearing things?  The latter is very much possible, but I am almost sure I heard that somewhere.

Otherwise, Jedi would be right.
