So Jimmy Carter is more known in this TL if he's at the top Democratic primary polls? Unless he was elected Governor earlier. If that's the case, maybe there would not be « Jimmy Who? ».

When it comes to 1980, as Ronald Reagan did so strong during the 1972 GOP primaries, I guess he might be among the potential top contenders for 1980. And possibly also Vice-President Ford.

I'm excited to see how President Rockfeller's policy towards Israel and Egypt will look like.

It seems that the ratification of the Camp David treaty might be good news for the Republicans for 1980.

I wonder which candidate will be the first one to announce his/her intentions for 1980.

What do the primary polls for both parties look like as of July 1979?

Wow! Nixon threatening with war against Iran if a hostage is killed. It's going to be very hot, I guess.

Looking forward to seeing if Ford manages to entice Reagan become VP ?

That would be a very smart move in order to unite all the wings of the party.
