Doug Jones Campaign Schedule - Febuary 2nd to Febuary 9th

February 2

Campaign announcement in Columbia, South Carolina :

Hello, South Carolina. These are times of challenges as we have a leader who has deeply divided this country through anti-immigration policies, through his attempts to deprive the American people of their health care insurance by repealing Obamacare and through tax cuts that only benefited for the top 1 % instead of benefiting the middle class and lower income Americans.

Throughout my life, I demonstrated a record of real leadership in Alabama. As U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, I prosecuted two Ku Klux Klan members for the 1963 Birmingham church bombing that killed four African-American girls. During my tenure, I also secured an indictment against Eric Rudolph, a domestic terrorist responsible for four politically motivated attacks, including the Atlanta Olympic Park bombing in 1996. And I became the first Democrat in 25 years to win a senate seat in the deeply red state of Alabama.

So now is the time for real leadership in Washington and that requires bringing Democrats and Republicans together in order to get things done. We need to reduce taxes for the middle class in order to make this economy working again for all Americans, we need a strong military and to work with our allies instead of treating them badly like Donald Trump is doing and we need universal health care system in which all of our people will have access. So it is in order to get us there that I'm running for President and I hope you'll follow me. Thank you. God bless you.

February 3
-Flight to New London, New Hampshire
-Town hall meeting with voters in New London, NH
-Meet with voters in Danbury, NH
-Meet with voters in Chichester, NH
-Agriculture policy speech in Chichester, NH
-Meet with voters in Danbury, NH
-Meet with voters in Canterbury, NH
-Meet with voters in Bradford, NH
-Meet with voters in Allenstown, NH
-Meet with voters in Concord, NH
-Education policy speech in Concord, NH
There is no doubt that the quality and funding of education in America have been uneven. Rather than abandoning our communities and schools to experiments overseen by political donors, we must commit our nation to providing first class public education for children regardless of where they live. Republicans say that they believe in "equality of opportunity." It is time to provide the resources to ensure that equality.

February 4
-Meet with voters in Franklin, NH
-Fundraising event in Franklin, NH
-Meet with votrers in Manchester, NH
-Free trade policy speech at Segway PT headquarters in Manchester, NH
-Fundraising dinner with the voters in Manchester, NH
-Immigration policy speech in Manchester, NH

The reason why we lost the 2016 election four years ago was because we put aside some of our party's principles and as a result, progressive voters stayed home on Election Day and we lost despite winning the popular vote. We can't afford to repeat that mistake again. That's why our nominee in 2020 needs to be a real progressive. And I'm afraid that this is not Kristen Gillibrand's case.

As a congresswoman, Gillibrand has unfalteringly opposed immigration reform, opposed any sort of amnesty for illegal immigrants, supported deputizing local law enforcement officers to enforce federal immigration laws, spoke out against allowing illegal immigrants to have driver's licenses and sought to make English the official language of the US. She sided in favor of requiring adult occupants of affordable housing to provide proof of residency.

[Crowd boos]

President Trump is already separating immigrant families in the southern borders, which is unhuman, and restricting immigration as well as the American Dream through stricter immigration laws. Enough is enough.

As President, I will reform our broken immigration system by granting amnesty for immigrants who are coming here for better opportunities and better living conditions through giving them access to U.S. citizenship, by allowing the Dreamers to stay and by granting higher education as well as driver licenses for immigrants. That's how we're going to restore America's status as an inclusive and united nation and to restore the American Dream. Thank you. God bless America.

February 5
-Meet with voters in Nashua, NH
-Infrastructure policy speech in Nashua, NH
-Wall Street reform policy speech in Nashua, NH

The next Democratic nominee for President needs to have the courage to stand against special interests and to stand  for the middle class and everyday Americans. But unfortunately, in 1999, Sherrod Brown, who was Congressman at that time, supported the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act that repealed Glass-Steagall, thus contributing to the 2008 financial crisis that drastically hurt the economy, killed millions of jobs and opened up the banks to do whatever they want with the American people's money.

If I were there to vote on this issue at that time, I would not have hesitated to vote against this bill. When I'm President, I will work with Congress to restore Glass-Steagall and to reform Wall Street to make this economy fair again and to bring integrity back to our financial system.

-Meet with votrers in Amherst, NH
-Meet with votrers in Greenville, NH
-Meet with votrers in Merrimack, NH
-Town hall meeting with the voters in Merrimack, NH
-Meet with voters in New Boston, NH

February 6
-Ad filming in Derry, NH
-Green energy policy speech in Dover, NH

February 7
-Meet with voters in Columbia, SC
-Gun policy speech in Columbia, SC

February 8
-Meet with votrers in Simpsonville, SC
-Meet with votrers in Greenville, SC
-Health care policy speech in Greenville, SC

Here are the pillars of my health care plan : 1) All Americans deserve the right to quality, affordable healthcare; 2) No American should be unable to make ends meet from out-of-control medical bills; 3) Pre-existing conditions should never be a reason to deny care or make care unaffordable; 4) Preventative care should be a foundation of our health care system. It is inefficient and dangerous for Americans to rely on the emergency room to treat preventable illness.

Doug Jones' response to Kirsten Gillibrand in Reno, Nevada

My colleague Kirsten Gillibrand has said, and I quote "I have long said my record in the House was colored by my experience in the district. While in thr senate, I have tirelessly fought for the rights of my constituents and that includes evolving on immigration." You mean " that includes flip-flopping on immigration. " That demonstrates how much Senator Gillibrand is ready to say or do anything to win votes. That is the worst kind of attempt to earn the trust of the voters.

You know Hillary Clinton opposed driver licenses for illegal immigrants. That is probably one of the reasons why she lost Florida to Donald Trump in 2016 since Clinton's stance on driver licenses might have led some Hispanic voters to stay home on Election Day. We can't afford to repeat that mistake again. We need a nominee who has always fought for the rights of all Americans, including immigrants. If you want a candidate with such a record the answer is Doug Jones, not Kirsten Gillibrand.

February 14
-Flight to Las Vegas, Nevada
-Celebrate Valentine Day with supporters in Las Vegas, NV

February 15
-Campaign in Reno, NV
-Doug Jones' response to Michelle Obama in Reno, NV

I have respect for Michelle Obama, but what she said about my record and my positions is just hypocrisy. She said and I quote that my « moderate viewpoint doesn't resonate with our party's base. What works for Alabama's Democrats, doesn't work for Democrats in California, New York, Illinois or other states across the country. » Well, Mrs. Obama, if you think my positions don't resonate with our party's base, you are one to talk, especially due to your husband's advocacy of free trade when he ratified the Trans Pacific Partnership and to the use of military force against Libya in 2011 and the troop surge in Afghanistan in 2010. So if you think my ideas would not resonate with our base and in states California, New York, Illinois or other states across the country then your positions too don't resonate in these states.

[Crowd laughs]

So the fact is that I'm campaigning to bring all the American people together after 4 divisive years of Donald Trump who is making it hard for immigrants to live the American Dream and who is enlarging the gap between the rich and the poor. That's why I propose to reduce taxes for the middle class in order to make sure that the top 1 % pays its fair share, to finally reform our immigration system, to increase defense spending in order to keep America safe and to finish our job to defeat ISIS and to keep Planned Parenthood alive in order to ensure that every woman in this country can make her own decision about her body, including for health purposes. That's why I'm the only candidate in this race who can unify this country and that's why I'm asking for your vote.

February 16

February 22
-Campaign in Columbia, SC
-Foreign policy speech at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC

In these times of growing national security challenges time has come for increasing defense spending if we want our military to have the best combat readiness, the best equipment and the best arsenal to protect the United States from foreign threats. It will be beneficial for South Carolina's local economy just like it has proven to be beneficial for my home state's economy, particularly in the areas around NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center and the U.S. Army's Redstone Arsenal. That way, we will finally get the job done against ISIS in the Middle East and all around the world, we will stop China from bullying its neighbors in the South China Sea and Russia will never surpass us. That is how we're going to maintain and reinforce global peace through a safer America.

February 23
-Campaign in Charleston, SC
-Gun policy speech at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC

Three years ago, a lunatic supremacist called Dylan Roof killed 9 innocent African-Americans here because of their color. It demonstrates that racism is still alive today. But we also have to make sure that guns don't fall in the wrong hands and thus allowing psycopaths like Dylan Roof to shoot people. That's why I will establish background checks on the American people to ensure that civilized and honest people can defend themselves and that citizens seeking to harm people for their belief, their color or their origin can't succeed to offend anyone.

February 24
-Campaign in Mount Pleasant, SC
-Campaign in Rock Hill, SC
-Counter-terrorism policy speech in Rock Hill, SC
-Campaign in Greenville, SC
-Campaign in Summerville, SC

February 25
-Campaign in Las Vegas, NV

Joaquin Castro is not a real progressive. He doesn't have the ability to unite the factions of our party. In the last four years, Donald Trump has imposed his anti-immigration rhetoric, enforced immigration laws, restricted immigration and separated immigrant families at the southern borders. I have never ever seen anything as sad and outrageous as this crisis. But unfortunately, Joaquin Castro has told CBS News' The Takeout podcast that he's not in favor of abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Unlike him, I will abolish ICE in order to stop these unfair deportations and to keep these immigrant families together and to reform immigration system for the sake of better living conditions for immigrants coming to this country and for the sake of the American Dream.

February 26
-Campaign in Reno, NV
-Meet with college voters at the University of Nevada in Reno, NV
-Campaign in Elko, NV

Doug Jones Campaign Ad

In an effort to stop Joaquin Castro's momentum in Nevada, Doug Jones' campaign broadcasts an attack ad against Joaquin Castro on his opposition to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The ad titled « Real Change » airs in Nevada

Real Change ad narration

Narrator : In the last four years, Donald Trump has imposed his anti-immigration rhetoric, enforced immigration laws, restricted immigration and separated immigrant families at the southern borders.

But unfortunately, Joaquin Castro has told CBS News' The Takeout podcast that he's not in favor of abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which means that he wants to keep strict immigration laws that are separating immigrant families and arresting innocent immigrants coming to this country for better living conditions and better opportunities.

As president, Doug Jones will abolish ICE in the first 100 days of his presidency in order to stop these unfair deportations and to keep these immigrant families together. He will reform our broken immigration system for the sake of better living conditions for immigrants coming to this country, to grant them U.S. citizenship and to make the American Dream possible for all Americans.

That's why he's asking you, Nevada, for your support and your vote on February 27.

Doug Jones : I'm Doug Jones and I approve this message.

Doug Jones Runs Ad "Leadership" airs in Nevada

Narrator : Who can defend progressive values, unite the Democratic Party and defeat Donald Trump? Not Joaquin Castro.

In 2012, he sided with Republicans to oppose an income tax increase aimed at ensuring that the top 1 % pays its fair share.

He told CBS News' The Takeout podcast that he's not in favor of abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which means that he wants to keep strict immigration laws that are separating immigrant families and arresting innocent immigrants coming to this country for better living conditions and better opportunities.

During his 4 bids for Congress (in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018), Congressman Castro accepted $450 000 from executives and employees of oil companies in Texas such as Exxon Mobil, Shell and Texaco while every gallon of gas takes over 3 bucks from your pockets.

Castro has failed to stand to special interests and he voted for $25 billion more loans from Export-Import Bank even though it is loaning out taxpayer money to big politically-connected corporations and banks.

Unlike Castro, Doug Jones will increase taxes for the top 1 % while reducing taxes for the middle class in order to help the middle class and make this economy working for everyone.

He will make oil companies pay to create the new jobs in clean energy America needs.

He will abolish ICE in the first 100 days of his presidency in order to stop these unfair deportations and to keep these immigrant families together. He will reform our broken immigration system for the sake of better living conditions for immigrants coming to this country, to grant them U.S. citizenship and to make the American Dream possible for all Americans.

Doug Jones, the real progressive we can trust to lead this party and to bring this country in the right direction.

Doug Jones : I'm Doug Jones and I approve this message.

Moderator's notes: This turn will last until Friday night, at 8:59:59 PM Eastern Time. Make sure to PM me ASAP if you need an extension, preferably after you read this sentence. Extensions will be given for the requester and the requester only, not for the field at large, so if you need an extension, PM me.

This turn will last the last week of February and the last turn before SUPER TUESDAY! Make sure to schedule your campaign accordingly.

Messaging is key! This turn will be all about setting up your ground game and building your coalition, so make sure to write your speeches/schedule accordingly! Speaking of which...

A schedule is required. You can post 20 speeches or no speeches, but what is required for you to post is your schedule. It doesn't have to be detailed, just give me a short description of each day's (or week's) events.

Advertisements: if you poll more than 15% nationally, you may run three advertisements. If you poll between 10% and 15%, you may run two advertisements, and if you poll below 10% but above 5%, then you can run one advertisement!

I don't know if you forgot it, but just for your information, California is also scheduled to hold its primary on Super Tuesday 2020.

https://www.thegreenpapers.com/P20/events.phtml?s=c&f=m

And according to Green Papers, Super Tuesday 2020 is scheduled to be on March 3 2020, unless it is that you just decided to make the primary schedule identical to the 2016 one.
I made it identical to 2016 because we don't know exactly when primaries will be.

California moving there primary up still needs to be approved by party officials (at least to my knowledge) and if it isn't approved by party officials it would keep the same date or like in 2008 with Michigan and Florida, only be given a few delegates. So I dediced to go with the former and keep it i June

I saw it in the Signup, Rules and OOC Thread. Thanks.

Mike Pence's Announcement Speech in Arlington, Virginia

Location : Arlington, Virginia

Date : February 27th 2020

Thank you. Thank you so very much.

Four years ago, our country was facing a big mess. We were facing the slowest economic growth America has ever lived and was heading into a recession. Why? Because government was standing in the way of hardworking Americans and stood in the way of more jobs, higher wages and more competitiveness for our businesses. We were facing a terrible threat represented by radical Islamic terrorism, including ISIS and we suffered 3 terrorist attacks by ISIS on the U.S. soil, including in Garland, San Bernardino and Orlando. Why? Because the previous administration has spent 8 years gutting our military and reducing it at its smallest size since World War I, which aweakened our alliances and our national security and allowed terrorists to threat us and our allies like they did in Paris, Nice and Brussels.

But in the last four years, thanks to President Trump's leadership, we turned things around and we managed to make America great again. We provided the largest tax cuts in America's history, which benefited to all Americans and all businesses in this country, we ended the War on Coal and encouraged the development of clean coal technologies and approved the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. As a result, we made America the best place in the world to do business and reduced the unemployment rate below 4 %. And by rebuilding our military and strengthening our alliances, we made strong progress against ISIS as we eradicated this terrorist organization in Iraq and are about to do the same in Syria. Thanks to President Trump's diplomatic and foreign policy leadership, we got North Korea to denuclearize, thus finally restoring peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and further ensuring the prevention of World War III.

Crowd cheers

Right now, the Democrats running for office are now seeking to spoil the great progress we made in the last four years as they want open borders in addition of seeking to increase taxes, which will lead businesses to ship overseas, and to reduce the size of our military as well as our defense budget, which will encourage terrorists to attack us and our allies. And yet John Kasich is running in order to divide our party. He is now an agent working for the Democrats, which could help the Democrats to win the White House and to impose their liberal agenda that will hurt our economy through tax hikes and a new war on energy, that will nominate liberal Supreme Court Justices granting constitutional rights to Guantanamo terrorists, restricting the Second Amendment and allowing policies killing unborn babies and that will diminish our national security through defense budget cuts. No wonder that John Kasich has raised sales taxes by $2 billion during his time as Governor. No wonder that he pushed for oil and gas severance tax increase during that same period. No wonder that he has fought to curtail the B-2 bomber program and the A-12 bomber program during his time at the House of Representatives.

Crowd boos

So in order to defend the progress of the last 4 years and to ensure further progress and to maintain America's status as the strongest nation in the world through to our unconditional victory against ISIS and our path to full-employment thanks to tax reform and smaller government, I'm proud to be here to announce my candidacy for President of the United States and I hope you'll follow me in this crusade for our nation's survival. Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.

Crowd cheers and chants « I like Mike »

Mike Pence's campaign schedule - February 27-March 1st 2020, Part 1

February 27 :
-Meet with voters in Alexandria, Virginia
-Foreign policy speech in Alexandria, Virginia
-Meet with voters in Richmond, Virginia
-Economic policy speech in Richmond, Virginia :

Richmond is a great symbol of America's prosperity through entrepreneurship and small government. In fact, six Fortune 500 companies are headquartered in the Richmond area. I know what it takes to keep this economy growing. As Governor of Indiana, I reduced the local income tax by 5 percent and killed the inheritance tax. By signing Senate Bill 1, I permitted Indiana counties to eliminate the business personal property tax on new equipment and let them exempt small businesses with less than $20,000 worth of equipment from paying personal property taxes. Under Donald Trump, we adopted the largest and boldest tax cuts ever, which benefited to hardworking families and to businesses across the country, thus bringing the unemployment rate to 3.9 %. So as President, I will keep taxes low in order to reinforce our businesses' productivity, competitiveness and ability to create jobs for the sake of prosperity for all.

-Meet with voters in Roanoke, Virginia
-Energy policy speech in Roanoke, Virginia
-Meet with voters in Chesapeake, Virginia
-Meet with voters in Norfolk, Virginia
-Foreign policy speech at Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia

John Kasich's record demonstrates his weakness on foreign policy and on terrorism. During his time at the House of Representatives, he fought to curtail the B-2 bomber program and the A-12 bomber program, thus making America an easier target to its national security threats and geopolitical foes.

[Crowd boos]

He fought to shut down these programs despite the fact these are programs that were crucial to winning the Cold War. But fortunately, in the last four years, we have rebuilt our military by increasing our defense budget. We maintained America's status as the most powerful military in the world. As a result, we stood with our allies and we eliminated ISIS in Iraq. And thanks to our airstrikes and to our material support to the Kurds, ISIS is now controlling only 2 % of the Syrian territory. Successfully pursuing the fight against ISIS requires keeping our military strong and that's exactly what I'm going to do and that will lead us to total victory against ISIS for the sake of our national security.

[Crowd cheers]

-Tax reform policy speech in Knoxville, Tennessee with Marsha Blackburn
-Rally with voters at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee :

The Supreme Court of the United States has a major role to play in America's future through the approval of some legislations. After Justice Antonin Scalia's death, President Trump managed to defend America's freedom and our Constitution by nominating constitutional conservatives like Neil Gorsuch at the Supreme Court of the United States, which saved millions of unborn babies from being killed through abortion, defended the right to self-defense as well as the Second Amendment and promoted freedom of religion.

Meanwhile, four years ago, John Kasich supported Barack Obama's liberal Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland and he said, and I quote, « I'd consider nominating Merrick Garland to Supreme Court. » It demonstrates how much Kasich is a fake conservative. He supported Garland despite the fact that Garland's appointment would have gave us a liberal Supreme Court that would have restricted gun rights and the Second Amendment, would have allowed massive records of abortions as well as the death of millions of innocent unborn babies and would have granted constitutional rights to Guantanamo terrorists. Those terrorists are not citizens in the United States and they are enemies of peace, justice and security. So Kasich's support to Garland shows that Kasich was opened to abortion and gun rights restrictions, but I am not.

As President, I will nominate conservative Supreme Court Justices for the sake of the defense of our freedom, our Constitution and our integrity. That's why I ask for your vote in order to make sure that our country keeps heading in the right direction. Thank you. God bless Tennessee and God bless the United States of America.

As we all know, Garland is the first U.S. city to suffer a terrorist attack orchestrated by ISIS on May 2015. But thanks to the vigilance, the courage and the courage of our local police officers, these 2 terrorists killed no one that day and were both killed. But since then, ISIS killed over 60 Americans on the U.S. soil in total through their terrorist attacks in San Bernardino and Orlando. But Donald Trump and I took action against terrorism by reinforcing and modernizing our military and by strengthening our alliances. We striked terrorists wherever they are through our military force and our airstrikes and by providing the Kurds and the Peshmerga the necessary weapons and military training they needed to fight ISIS and that's how we swept all of ISIS' territory in Iraq and almost all of their Syrian territory. So under my leadership, we will finish the job and defeat ISIS.

February 29 :
-Meet with voters in Austin, Texas
-Rally with voters at the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas
-Tax reform policy speech in Austin, Texas

-Meet with voters in San Antonio, Texas
-Immigration policy speech in San Antonio, Texas
-Energy policy speech in San Antonio, Texas :

In the last four years, we made strong progress in our quest to energy independence. By ending the War on Coal and by abolishing those job-killing regulations on coal, we brought our coal mining jobs back home and we boosted our energy industry by favoring the development of clean coal technologies. And by approving the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, we facilitated oil transportation from Canada to Texas and thus bringing massive job creation in the United States. Not only energy independence will ensure job creation here in America but it will also deprive terrorists of revenues from our energy dependence on foreign energy through our imports of oil from unstable countries in throes of terrorism. So if I'm President, I will take advantage on all of our sources of energy in order to reinforce our prosperity and our national security.

-Meet with voters in El Paso, Texas
-Campaign in Oklahoma

March 1 :

Turn 7
March 2nd to March 12th

In the News!

Mike Pence Becomes Presumptive Nominee
Kasich left the field saying that the Republican party has abandoned morals and after pressure from the white house, Pawlenty leaves. Pence was able to unite much of the Republican party before Super Tuesday but he does have a rebellion within the GOP among former Kasich supporters which is being led by former Senator Gorden Humphrey and Jeff Weaver

The fight for the South
With the frontrunners in the south, Doug Jones and Michelle Obama, both out of the race. Super Tuesday created a fight for the south. Joe Biden was able to come away with the victory after strong African-American support but both Brown and Castro put up a good fight with Gillibrand and Jeter being non-factors

Brokerd Convection?
With the Democratic in a three way tie between Biden, Brown and Gillibrand with strong competion from Castro and Jeter, many predict the party is headed towards a contested convection. FiveThirtyEight moved their prediction of a Brokerd Convection after Super Tuesday up from 21.5% to 43.7%.

Moderator's notes: This turn will last until Tuesday night, at 8:59:59 PM Eastern Time. Make sure to PM me ASAP if you need an extension, preferably after you read this sentence. Extensions will be given for the requester and the requester only, not for the field at large, so if you need an extension, PM me.

Is that me or you forgot Maine? Because the Maine caucuses were held on March 6 in my memory.

I think that at the beginning of every turn there should be a list of the endorsements for every candidate in order to make sure there won’t be any confusion. What do you think of this, terp40hitch?

Mike Pence's campaign schedule - March 2-March 12 2020

March 2-7 :
-Vice-Presidential duties in Washington D.C.

March 8 :
-Campaign in Denver, Colorado
-Rally with voters at Bronco Stadium in Denver, Colorado :

So, it seems that the likelyhood of a brokered Democratic National Convention next summer has drastically increased after Super Tuesday. The Democrats are clearly in a mess. It shows how much they have nothing to propose, how much they want to divide the country through higher job-killing taxes, bigger government, stricter gun control that will do nothing but restricting America's God-given rights and deeper cuts in defense spending that will make America an easier target for radical Islamic terrorism. But fortunately, we Republicans are united and that is the reason why we will keep America together and will keep moving America forward and defending our freedom thanks to tax reform for the sake of a strong economy, defense of the Constitution and a strong military for the sake of victory against terrorism. Only together, we can overcome our challenges. Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.

March 9 :
-Meet with voters in Columbus, Ohio with Mitch McConnell
-Economic policy speech in Columbus, Ohio with Mitch McConnell
-Fundraising event in Columbus, Ohio with Mitch McConnell
-Meet with voters in Cleveland, Ohio with Mitch McConnell
-Meet with voters in Akron, Ohio with Mitch McConnell
-Energy policy speech given by Mitch McConnell in Akron, Ohio :

You know, my home state of Kentucky is one of the largest coal producers in America. And due to its abundance of oil and coal resources, the neighboring state of Ohio has a big potential of playing a major role in the process of getting America to energy independence. So we understand the concerns of local hardworking families who are worrying about the potential of a second War on Coal that would cost their jobs and their wages. Coal is a very crucial source of energy to our quest for energy independence. But sadly, all of the Democratic presidential candidates running in the actual election want to gut our energy industry and start a new War on Coal.

No wonder that Vice-President Biden is one of the strongest supporters of Barack Obama's War on Coal that has imposed taxes and regulations on energy industry, including America's coal industry, thus closing coal mines, killing over 25 000 of American jobs in addition of shipping American jobs as well as American coal plants to China where regulations on coal are lower.

In addition, Sherrod Brown has flip-flopped on coal since he was among the 4 Democratic Senators who voted against the Carbon Emissions Cap and Trade Plan of 2008. Then he shifted his position and now wants to tear down America's coal industry through higher taxes and regulations.

But in the last four years, we have turned things around. Under President Trump, we ended the War on Coal, which brought our coal mining jobs back home and helped us developing technologies that will produce clean coal thanks to carbon capture and storage technologies.

So in order to succeed our path to energy independence, to encourage job creation and to ensure a clean environment and to make sure that not a cent from our energy imports unwillingly falls in the hands of terrorists, vote for Mike Pence. Thank you!

March 10-12 :
-Mike Pence campaigns in Iowa, Minnesota and Michigan on free trade and agriculture
-Primary night party with supporters in Cincinnati, Ohio

Mike Pence's Campaign Ad "Unfit" airs in Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, Missouri, Ohio, Idaho, Utah, Alaska, Washington, Pennsylvania and Indiana

Narrator : Sherrod Brown is unfit for the job of President of the United States. You know why?

He voted over 95 % with Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren, showing that he is not willing to seek common ground on major issues facing this nation such as trade, national defense or tax reform.

He opposed the United States-India Nuclear Agreement for cooperation on peaceful uses of nuclear energy while this was supported by 86 senators on 100.

Even after 9/11, the worst attack America has ever suffered, Brown voted against the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security, a measure that reinforced our national security and prevented further terrorist attacks against us.

No wonder that the Lugar Center has ranked Senator Brown 68th on 100 in order of bipartisanship.

In addition, Brown has shifted his positions on several issues.

In 1999, as a Congressman, Sherrod Brown supported the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act that repealed Glass-Steagall and repealed regulations on Wall Street and big banks. Now he wants to restore Glass-Steagall.

In 2008, he was among the 4 Democratic senators who voted against the Carbon Emissions Cap and Trade Plan and voted to gut the Clean Air Act before he opposed a Congressional Review Act that would prohibit raising energy prices unnecessarily, demonstrating his support to Barack Obama's War on Coal that has imposed taxes and regulations on energy industry, including America's coal industry, thus closing coal mines, killing over 25 000 of American jobs in addition of shipping American jobs as well as American coal plants to China where regulations on coal are lower.

Senator Brown also flip-flopped on tax cuts since he opposed eliminating the Marriage Penalty Tax in 2000, then reversed and voted for it in 2004 before he voted against the Tax Cuts on Jobs Act in 2017.

On immigration, he voted against constructing a fence along the Mexican border five times as a member of the House, then, in September 2006, when he was running for the Senate, voted for the fence.

Sherrod Brown can't be trusted to lead this nation. He is ready to say, do or be anything to win votes. His record of political calculation is not how leadership works. America deserves better than that.

Mike Pence : I'm Mike Pence and I approve this message.

Mike Pence's response to Derek Jeter in Salt Lake City, Utah

As you know, we've heard Derek Jeter criticizing me and Biden and Gillibrand for supporting the Iraq War during a time I was at the House of Representatives. I guess Mr. Jeter believes that the world is a better place when Iraq is a safe heaven for terrorism and when terrorists can use this region as a base to prepare terrorist attacks against us and our allies. He couldn't be more wrong than this. No wonder that he doesn't have any national security experience to lead this nation and keep it safe like this administration did in the last 4 years.

Saddam Hussein gave sancturay to some of the worst radical Islamic terrorists. He had given sanctuary to Abu Nidal, Abu Abbas (who was directly responsible for the death of Leon Klinghoffer, an American Jew abroad the Achille Lauro) and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad terrorist who was involved in the millennium plot, a terrorist attempt to commit bombing attacks against tourist sites in Jordan as well as against the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the USS The Sullivans in the context of millennium celebrations. After that, al-Zarqawi trained jihadists in Pakistan and Afghanistan. After 2001, he flew to Iraq and Saddam Hussein gave him sanctuary and even rejected requests from Jordan to hand over al-Zarqawi, which proved him to be a sponsor of terrorism and made Iraq a safe place for jihadists. And the message was very clear : either you stand with us or you are with the enemy.

By that time, al-Zarqawi founded Al-Qaeda in Iraq and was responsible for the 2005 bombing of three hotels in Amman, Jordan. But after we toppled Saddam Hussein, Iraq was no longer a safe haven for terrorism and we finally killed al-Zarqawi in 2006.

And now, thanks to our airstrikes against ISIS and to the provision of weapons and military training to the Kurds and the Peshmerga, we have totally eliminated ISIS in Iraq in 2017 and we are about to do the same in Syria.

That's how we're going to keep America safe and prevent another 9/11 or further attacks like the ones we suffered in San Bernardino and Orlando, not with the weak foreign policy adopted by Derek Jeter that would gut our military and make America an easier target for radical Islamic terrorism. Victory against ISIS is imminent and I intend to finish the job for the sake of the preservation of freedom, democracy, security, justice and peace.

Mike Pence's responds to Kirsten Gillibrand's attacks in Melbourne, Florida

By attacking me on this administration's policies, Senator Gillibrand has proven to be out of touch. If our policies were really a disaster, we would not have created 4 and a half million new jobs in the last four years, we would not have had brought the unemployment rate at its lowest rate since 1970 which is below 4 %, we would not have eradicated ISIS in Iraq and we would not have gotten North Korea to denuclearize.

The reality is that Senator Gillibrand's tax hike job-killing plan has failed to get this economy strong just like her weak foreign policy plan gutting our military power and our security measures have failed to keep America safe and to reinforce international peace. The reason why we got the strongest economy since a half-century is because we care about the people. And our foreign policy kept our people safe because it put America's interests first.

The American people wants progress and that's why, with a Pence Administration, we're going to keep Moving America forward.
