The Speaker asked me to clarify whether over-the-counter drugs like insulin are covered by AtlasCare, and it is under the
Cheaper Medicine Helps The Poors Act. Both Fremont and Lincoln currently have a mix of public-private systems, but the South, to my knowledge, does not have a public option or mandate under
its healthcare law and therefore people without insurance would have to pay out-of-pocket for drugs like insulin. If my understanding of Southern law is incorrect, I would ask Mr. R (who I believe wrote the South's law) or someone more familiar with the law to correct the record, but as it stands now people without insurance have to pay the full price for insulin.
