X,

While we have had clashes last game, I must admit that I have been extremely impressed by all your moves. I'm admiring greatly your intelligence, you're a valuable foe.

The feeling is mutual Smiley  May the best Pope win (ideally mine)!

There are times when you're sad that you're not included in the news update, and there are times when you're happy. I'm pretty happy right now.

Let's just say you're lucky you were on quietly working on clean-up duty in Iceland.

You narrowly avoided a far worse situation which would have put you in the update. Wink

Oh no! I'm excited for the next turn to see what I might have just dodged. I've got a hunch what it might be.

I can imagine. Aside from the Rome landings, and even those weren't a complete loss, it was quite the successful operation!

Ehhhhhh...I anticipated some of it which prevented him from knocking me out of the game.  The thing about this situation is that, to paraphrase Omar Little, you come at the President, you'd best not miss.  I'm pretty happy with how everything turned out.  Spain and especially Austria were the most damaged here.

Italy has somehow ended up as an even bigger mess than in otl.

Play in these games enough and you’ll discover that this happens to every character or country X puts his hands on.

A man takes pride in his work Grin  ASPN, were you here for the time when I depopulated half a continent by turning them all into ice zombies (i.e. omnicide)?  Gooooood times.  Although to be fair, I'm not playing the Boltons that way in Leonardo's game and I didn't play Tywin that way in the first ASOIAF game.

Uh huh. Sure you're not. We're on turn two and your tricks haven't come to light yet.

Oddly enough, I'm having fun playing things straight in that game.  Which, I understand, is making some people rather paranoid b/c they've never seen me play that way, but no.  Nine out of ten times you'd be right, but this is that other time.

Neither did I, it seems pretty obvious that there was a large-scale false flag operation launched against Austria.  The Italy revolts could theoretically be chalked up to bad luck regarding local response to the extremely harsh measures implemented by Austria (probably not though), especially if midturn was slow.  However, the assassination makes it obvious that this was all ordered by another player.

No, no. The revolts and the assassinations were done by different people. I know who caused the revolts, I will find who caused the assassinations.

Well, neither the revolts nor the assassinations were caused by me nor did I have any foreknowledge of them, so I'm glad you know who it really was Tongue

Everyone with a clear motive and ability to conduct this has publicly or privately denied it. Either someone unexpected is playing a long game or someone is lying.

This feels like a closed-circle murder mystery! Tell me Sardinia, what were you doing on the night before the murders?

Having a few beers and watching the second half of Big Fish Tongue

Times like this make me glad I picked Quebec. Let Europe set itself on fire, I'll just chill here with my poutine and beavers.

You know, I have considered joining as an Indian tribal leader if I die Tongue

To prove my good faith, here are part of my orders:

I'm sorry, I know you're doing all you can right but I'm going to face a ton of s*** internally for having "not defended" Avignon while I did. So I humbly request a modification of the results of this turn regarding Avignon.

I strongly object to any modification.

I strongly object to any modification.

Why?
It is what I wrote in my direct orders.

I was pretty specific about where I landed my troops and did not come from any area your orders mentioned.  I essentially went around/between your army.  I don’t think your orders were specific enough in this case to stop my strategy here and I also think the sort of modification you are asking for is a pretty bad precedent to set.  I’m sorry, but I feel very strongly about this, especially since it’s not like we’re talking about some small change.

Oh you misunderstand my point,
If Grégory was going to be killed, fine.

What I want it to be changed is the fact I didn't let any troops protecting Gregory, which as specified is not true.

Because in what Spamage wrote it is written that I didn't protect him.

So I don't know, maybe my army was going to be overwhelmed, arrived too late, I did however protected Avignon like what my PM mentioned.

Oh, I thought Spamage said you just arrived too late.  As long as Avignon/Gregory and Marsailles had the same fate, that’s fine.  Come to think of it, I had my men withdraw from Venice after the looting/other stuff as per my promise to Kal, so that should also be mentioned if it’s not too much trouble.

To those who privately told Spamage they didn’t want me to be allowed to join as Naples and then put him in the position of having to PM me about it, at least have the decency to put your cards on the table in public instead of trying to lobby the GM to do your dirty work for you.  You know who you are Angry

Have you not heard of the legend of the player who once burnt down King's Landing along with most of Houses Tyrell and Lannister? Have you not heard of the menace who led the White Walkers into invading the North and committing genocide in Westeros? Or the man whose actions planted the seeds for the Revolution in Poland-Lithuania? And the man who dared to burn Rome, Avignon and Jerusalem?

"It was one thing for a King of Spain to be blown up or an Austrian Empress stabbed to death, but the murder of a Hohenzollern King is a step too far."

My favorite sentence of the update Tongue

Well I didn’t succeed in destroying in-game Catholicism from within, but no one can say I didn’t give it the old college try Tongue

Great job, Spamage btw!
