Very interesting yet ultimately irrelevant. I resent the obsession placed on birth rates. The only benefit of high population growth is that there is an increasing amount of people willing to spend their increasingly minute share of the collective money on corporate products. That doesn't benefit society at all. Not to hijack an interesting thread on its own merits.

Barely. Especially in the US' "service" dominated economy.
