Either way, Republicans perpetually getting only <25% of the Hispanic vote would be awful for their long-term electoral prospects. Even if Hispanic turnout only increases a little, their pop. growth is still significant and will continue to shrink the GOP's share of the electorate every 4 years like clockwork.
Culturally, Hispanics are much more closer to non-Hispanics white than to Blacks (at least in Sweden). They indeed might be assimilated into white culture. Blacks are though lost for GOP.

I might see how GOP transforms partly into "worker class party", still holds Whites, but "assimilates" more Hispanics.

Hispanics in Sweden?

He's never even visited Sweden, I bet.

Yup, Trump takes NC because R's suppressed early voting for AA. Was a must win state for Trump. Looking good there. Smiley

Disgusting and un-American. You should be ashamed of yourself. Don't worry. The educated vote will swing and AAs will turn out on ED. You will lose the state despite your nasty celebration.

Call it what you want but anyone who wants can show up and vote tomorrow who is a citizen. Trump will carry NC tomorrow and win the election, prepare for depression to set in around 11 PM tomorrow night hehe Smiley

There's a special place in hell for people like you. Wink

There's D's out there that actually believe in a God? Learn something new everyday.

Well, you, certainly, do not. Though, I must say, you will probably be fine in Hell: Satan would surely reward you for long-term loyalty.

If Clinton loses the election because of NC and MI I could see the democrats pushing for an Australian-style mandatory voting law

I don't think so. These laws are completely ineffective, nobody is going to jail or fine people because they didn't vote. Automatic registration along with soft voter ID, like the West Virginia law, is the way to go.

Actually, this is wrong. These laws are perfectly effective: Australia routinely gets an over 90% turnout. No jail is necessary: small fine, say 20 dollars, administered like a parking ticket, would do the trick admirably.  May countries have been doing it for decades, and it is reasonably easily implemented.

Now, there are other reasons not to want that, but ineffectiveness is not one.
