I think that Abbot is currently being overrated. While yes, he won a large amount of hispanics in 2014, he is running in a trump midterm, where these voters are going to be angry. In addition, suburban voters could defect in a big enough wave. Thoughts?

I'd personally rate it at Likely R right now.

I propose that we hold an online "funeral" for the Texas Republican Party on Atlas. It's truly the end of an era. Whoever is the most connected to Texas Politics here should lead the proceedings.
Maybe Bagel23 could do the honors? He's one of the more active Texas posters here.
