Batman vs Spiderman: Which do you prefer?

Spiderman by default, because Bruce Wayne is kind of a dick and represents everything that's wrong with America. Think about it:

• Got to where he is, not through any work of his own, but because he's from a rich family
• Spends tons of money on fancy military gizmos to fight enemies while neglecting to give any money to fix social problems (like rebuilding the public transit system he utterly destroyed in Batman Begins, for example, which was donated to the city by his dad)
• Embezzles corporate money without a second thought
• Considers it justified to institute a massive domestic surveillance system
• Believes that he is unilaterally allowed to serve as judge, jury, and executioner when by his perception the ends justify the means, without allowing any external oversight.
• Jumps to the conclusion that government is useless at solving social problems based on a small handful of examples
• Never comes to terms with a traumatic event he faced (i.e., the death of his parents) instead allowing it to cloud his judgement throughout his life

Spiderman has always been too campy for me.  Although I find all the Marvel heroes to be very campy and lame, but that doesn't seem to be the consensus for some reason.

I'd rather watch The Flash or (serious) Green Lantern in a movie before another Spiderman reboot.  I hope they make one. 

+1 to pretty much everything you said, with an exception (for the most part) for X-Men, regarding Marvel. I did enjoy the 2011 Green Lantern movie, though I know that bucks with the general consensus opinion. It was entertaining without taking itself too seriously, and I love being able to recognize locations where a movie was filmed.

(though, to be fair, my friends and I had a similar discussion after we first saw The Dark Knight, so I didn't steal the entire argument )
