Interesting.  Democrats hosted another "empty chair" town hall this morning, this time protesting Dianne Feinstein:

It's the first time so far I've seen protestors attempting to pressure a centrist Democrat to heed their concerns.  This movement may be adopting the contours of the tea party, in the sense of trying to compel representatives to tow more closely to protestors' ideological agenda, by threatening to support primary challengers if they do not comply.
Feinstein may be the worst of the Democrats if you take into account the political climate of the state they represent.  People talk about the likes of Joe Manchin and Heidi Heitkamp being too conservative and voting with the Republicans too much, but at least they have somewhat of an excuse, considering they represent two of the most conservative states in the country so even though they are more conservative than liberal, they are still more liberal than their average constituents.  Feinstein may not be as conservative as Manchin or Heitkamp, but of all the Democrats she is easily the furthest to the right if you compare her to her constituents.
