An awkwardly said robotic/wooden phrase that doesn't follow normal speech patterns and is said in order to please a crowd.

just to reiterate, I did not say 'what is a Romneyism', but 'what is Romneyism'.  please continue the discussion along these lines.

adopting whatever position is most politically expedient at the moment, and then ignoring it or disavowing it once the winds change.
