You know what y’all can do with your moral judgements of Moore voters. I just want to scream whatabouts.  I don’t have to lay them out.  Before you go into your neighbors house to insist he clean up his mess, clean up your own first.  You just cannot grasp that concept.

I expect the Senate will investigate whether Moore was lying to the voters of Alabama.  The yearbook will be the center of attention.  The question will then be whether Gloria tried to pull a fast one for publicity. If the yearbook notation is fradulant, Moore is safe.  If it is legit, he is toast.  If it is 1/2 & 1/2, it is anyone’s guess.

Thank Gloria for the current situation.

What does this even mean? This is a mess of a post, once again.

"Cleaning up our own mess" – what? If you're referring to Franken, nearly every D-avatar on this forum has called for his resignation, and a decent amount of Democrats did too. As for Conyers, I also believe he should resign.

Just because there are sexual harassers in the Democratic Party does not give the Republican Party or Alabama voters carte blanche to elect a pedophile.

When you yell "both sides" you don't actually make anything better. You end up justifying the status quo. Guess who loses? The women (and men) who are abused and exploited by these people in power who keep getting reelected.

Stop trying to blame a lawyer for your own hackish beliefs. You should be ashamed of yourself.

PC action like this

https://pjmedia.com/faith/archdiocese-washington-sues-transit-authority-rejection-christmas-ad/

cause white Christians to feel under attack and that they are a minority.  They then vote like a minority.  Huge majorities of the minority vote for the same party.  Which now means they vote for the GOP.

That is what is happening in Alabama. As blacks vote Democrat, white Christians are voting GOP

Christ, if white christians in Alabama decide to vote for a pedophile because the Seattle public transportation system rejected a church's ad, then they do deserve the characterization of being immoral hypocrites.

My defense for murder is "another guy murdered someone too!"

The prosecution tells me that's whataboutism, but the judge shuts him down, saying it's "just a lib tactic to silence the oppressed white Christian majority."

I'm found not guilty, a bald eagle flies into the courtroom, etc. etc.

Win or lose, Moore will still burn in hell for what he is done. And I sincerely hope that he does when it's time for judgment day. AN ELECTION AIN'T TICKET OUT OF HELL, LOL!
Again we don’t even know if what the women claimed is true.
That's what's so incredible. 95% of people on this site treat him as guilty until proven innocent (and I'm not sure they'd even accept it if he was proven innocent). I think he did date girls aged 16-18 with whom he did not have sex (according to all of those stories he was quite respectful and never went beyond kissing). Those stories all fit together soundly, however the allegation that he raped a 14 year old has him displaying an entirely different behavior towards her than is seen in any of the other cases. It also has no evidence for it besides a yearbook that the accuser's lawyer won't allow a neutral party to check for authenticity.

Moore is leading in the RCP average again. It seems most Alabama voters aren't convinced. I think he will win narrowly. After that, the Senate should demand the yearbook and check its veracity. If Moore is guilty, I hope there's enough proof to give him prison time. If he's innocent, I hope people here will stop saying "Republicans elected a pedophile."

Moore's behavior post revelations does not imply innocence. He stayed off the campaign trail for 8 days, which is incredibly suspicious behavior for an innocent man. None of the accusers gain anything by lying, other than finally gaining the chance to be heard.

It's incredibly suspicious that the accuser's lawyer won't allow the yearbook to be verified by a neutral third party. The notion that an accuser must automatically be believed because "she has no reason to lie" ought to have been done away with after the media ruined the lives of several innocent young men in the famous Duke Lacrosse trial with that exact attitude. I never even liked Roy Moore, but it's innocent until proven guilty, and there is no proof as of right now.
What do you mean by a “neutral third party?”

Give it to the Libertarians.

So I had a dream about this election last night. It's a bit hazy but I'll write down what I remember:

There weren't any more bombshells or scandals emerging between yesterday and election night. Polling was scattered, similar to VA-Gov. Everybody was very cautious.

I'm reading tweets about turnout projections, which are staggeringly low, etc. It's blamed on the weather, overcast with predictions of heavy rain.

Then in the afternoon, which looked like evening because it was dark, there's breaking news on NBC about several incidents of white-hooded KKK rallies at polling sites in the Black Belt and Ivey was calling the National Guard to help protect voters.

Obviously atlas was saying that Jones is doomed.

Then I don't remember much in the hours that followed, but when polls closed, there were reports of long lines in Black Belt precincts and in Montgomery, Birmingham, and Huntsville. Some tweet by some politico said that the Jones campaign spent a lot of its remaining money on buying and distributing umbrellas to people who were coming to the polls.

So now the interesting part: whoops, this was hazy. I woke up before the results were finalized, but I remember that the map on NBC had Madison, Mobile, and one of the SE Alabama counties be (non-atlas) blue.
