Firstly, the national climate is already going to be very anti-GOP if Trump is forced to step down or is impeached, and add to this that Moore is a fire-and-brimstone extremist, and I think the Democratic nominee easily gets over 400 Electoral Votes. someone like Kasich probably runs as a third party and creates a 1912 type scenario, with Moore winning one or two states, the moderate Republican third party winning 5 or 6, and the Democrat winning the rest.

If Moore can win in Alabama, he can get 40% of the vote nationwide. Even candidates that have lost almost every state have cracked 40%.

If Moore was the Republican nominee, there would be a "rational" conservative third party that would likely put Moore in third place nationally.
