Schulz's home state could be Illinois, Ohio or Pennsylvania; a big left-leaning state with a steel and coal industry.
Merkel could live in Maine, the home of moderate Republican heroes, or in Alaska, whose population density is most similar to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's.
