It was believed that if Collins retires then the place will be Likely D. But on January 2, Collins announced his decision to run. After this, Dems ceased to consider it as a potential Dems pick-up

Why ia Brownback trailing so badly in a red state like Kansas?

The timeline writer vastly underestimates the effect of state partisan leanings on downballot races, while vastly overestimating the effect of "candidate quality".

That's right, even though I guess Ben Sasse will easily win senate re-election.
Wait wasn't this the TL where there was a 4-way race in Nebraska?
