Inception.  I did find it quite impressive and interesting.

Watched about 20 minutes of Passion of Christ last night, but it was so dull I couldn't go on.  May try again tonight.

Dog Day Afternoon

Sometimes I forget that Pacino used to be one of the greatest actors ever, instead of just playing variations on himself in every movie. Everything else about the movie was also pretty fantastic though.

Haha, yes, he's certainly gone to the dogs.  I love that film.

So, my recent viewing was of 'Let Me In' - OK, I hardly never like horror movies, but I did quite like this one.  The whole film was quite bracingly intense and appealing (I'm a sucker for 1983), with some actual scary bits, and I loved the idea of falling in love with 'evil', and also the feeling that the victims of 'evil' aren't worth getting upset with 'evil' about...   My favorite scene is when he's on the train and she's there, in the trunk.  It was strangely comforting.

Also, the little girl/monster is really lovely and androgynous.

I've not seen the Scandinavia original, but I'd like to.

Black Swan.  Very nice!  I'm a bit of a Natalie Portman fan and she's excellent in it.

Three Men in a Boat, a charming 1975 film with Tim Curry, Micheal Palin, Steven Moore.  Really enjoyable, I highly recommend it.  I wonder what Al thinks of that sort of thing.

The Hunger Games - I quite liked it.  Nice heavy handed left-wing political message - how rare is that?  Hard to remember the last time I saw a film that wasn't right-wing.

Synedoche New York.

I liked it though I'm not sure I got it. Then again, that seems to be a common reaction. Tongue

Oh I do so want to see that one!!

Tonight I watched The Iron Lady with some French friends. It was pretty good.

The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant (1972)

Has anyone else here ever seen this? What did they think?

I LOVE this movie.  Fassbinder is one of my favorite directors of all time.

Recently I saw a film, I remember wanting to mention it on here, but now I've forgotten what it was.. I will try to remember and get back.

Oh yes, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the american version. Pretty good.
