His anti-property tax stand made him quite popular. The State Senate took all of the blame for the government shutdown. It's hard for an outsider to understand what an issue property taxes are in NJ, and how popular property tax relief always is. According to polls, 21% of New Jerseyans care more about property taxes than any other issue this election--a larger percentage than care about the economy, Iraq, terrorism, illegal immigration or anything else.
I live in Texas, believe me...I have a good idea of how great property tax relief would be. I just wasn't aware of Corzine's doings...the last thing I remember was him wanting to ban Gambling and the government shut down.
